Weird Al Yankovic has recently released a song called "Ringtone" on his new album, Internet Leaks, which references many Queen songs. Most heavily sampled is "Don't Stop Me Now", however, even some Queen songs which weren't singles are used, such as "You and I." The cover art for Ringtone also draws from A Night at the Opera's album cover. SuperNews! has created a video for Ringtone on YouTube. Brian May commented on Ringtone on his site. He appreciated the musical nod and noted the fine guitar-work.

Reading the comments left by users on YouTube, I see that someone wrote:
"Beginning: don't stop me now/ Bohemian rhapsody
.35: Now i'm here
.42: Liar
Throughout the song there are parts which resemble in only seven days, let me
entertain you, if you cant beat them, you and i.... "
Although I definitely do see it as a style-homge (guitar, vocal harmonies, etc.), does anyone hear any references to specific Queen songs? The only one I hear is at the last few seconds, which sounds like the end of The Show Must Go On.

Its a kinda cool song. I didn't listen for specific song references, although it reminded me strongly of Queen several times. i loved the idea of a song about ringtones people hate!

Come on, you've got to be deaf if you don't at least hear the "Now I'm Here" riff starting at 00:35...

I didn't hear any of these songs in it.
Guitar an vocal style is queen influenced but it's so overdone it makes me wanna puke.
Weird Al's time is so over.

The artwork looks Queen like too

Everyone can notice the Don't Stop Me Now and Now I'm Here comparisons. Also, the beginning line about regrets is similar to We Are the Champions, and the very last part is similar to the end of Headlong.

I don't get it. If he can do it, why can't Brian and Roger?

(shrugs)
I actually think this is more like Queen than Weird Al's song

This is spooky...
Did you notice Wierd Al has the same shirt on as Freddie has in the Somebody To Love video?
This is like the DaVinci Code all over again for me... shivers down my spine I tell you :S

Weird Al even got Brian's guitar sound right :) They could delete the vocals off it and throw it in the middle of a Queen album from the '70s and it would work. It sounds like Queen but I don't hear any Queen songs specifically.

Probably Rick Derringer who should get the credit for sounding like Brian. Al would be happy enough reading your last sentence though.
