Well, you never know.  With the way Brian May has been rewriting history lately we may learn something new on this interview disc.  After recently learning that Paul Rodgers was in fact Freddie's favourite singer all along, perhaps we'll discover that Freddie predicted Adam Lambert's arrival over twenty years ago and that he wished he could sing like Lambert would.  Or something....

Bulllshit.
The Milton Keynes 82 dvd and LP set made me very happy.
But that was about the last time Queen released a decent product.

"Absolute Greatest" is just a another release that's absolutely useless. Just like Greatest Hits 3, The Platinum Collection, Greatest Hits 1 + 2 boxed (gold), Stond Cold Classics, Queen Rocks, Greatest Kareoke Hits... and the list goes on.

Like Mike Hunt, I'm glad my days of "buying all that had the Queen logo on it" are long gone. I have shrinked my collection to all original vinyls, all original singles that were released with a picture sleeve (one item for each single in some kind of format, mostly 7") and some dvds and videos.
Enough is enough!!

I don't buy Queen products anymore unless they release something really special that's worth buying!

Hi, Ducksoup. I have to disagree with your bad opinion about Queen Rocks and Greatest Karaoke Hits. The first has a very nice re-recording of ICLWY and Karaoke Hits is on my DVD player for the last months or so. Reason: my 2 year old boy loves it, as it features hits that span all of the bands carreer. Apart from that, and being a little bit older myself, I just love this (Karaoke) DVD as well, because it has a great number of videos and features IWBTLY (band version).

Cheers,

Ogre-

So basically you are loving an album for ONE track.
Good for you.
I tend to judge albums by their full content not just one song.
In my opinion Queen rocks is just another filler in the catalogue and so is karaoke hits.

Maybe you like dance traxx volume 1 too?
I see your point, but "I want it all", even if it is only the odd re-take! :) I don't really judge albums, they just make me happy or not, for the whole content or for some little bit.

Oh, and there were some versions on dance traxx which I liked at the time. Just don't ask me which of them, because I have forgotten that long ago... ;)

Cheers,

Ogre-

An excerpt from the bonus CD:

Brian: Oh, this song's great. It's Killer Queen, one of our milestones from the ANATO days!

Roger: Erm... Bri, it's not from ANATO, it's from Sheer Heart Attack.

Brian: ' you sure?

Roger: Well, that's what this paper says.

If Brian and Roger can rehash previously released material (for five years and counting) without releasing any archive material, I think the joke has at least another  two years or so until it reaches its expiration date.

inu-liger, the dolt who swallows everything he's told.......btw, it's not really a joke, is it

I agree with inu-liger that the joke is past its expiry date.  Give Brian May a break. :-)

Yeah the poor guy was credited with only one genuine hit (We Will Rock You), so he replaced Innuendo with Who Wants to Live Forever.

I might give Brian a break, if he opens the archive doors that were slammed shut in 2004.

Nice name calling. Anyways, I have my slight doubts personally that Freddie idolized Paul Rodgers the way Brian puts it (I thought Aretha Franklin was his uber idol?), and that Brian is just doing it for PR reasons. However the "joke" I'm referring to is Sebastian's regarding newer potential collaborational singers with Queen.
It would only be funny IF Brian did what Sebastian sarcastically suggests, and in that case Brian would have to be certified insane, however that said his joke has gotten quite old and stale.

F*k them. There is nothing polite what could I say about this release. I was really hoping for a bonus live DVD.
And you have one - except it's a credit crunch DVD - with no physical form, making it accessible from anywhere you can get an internet connection and at NO EXTRA CHARGE!

And another question: what about the non english speaking fans (millions by the way) ?? an audio commentary in a DVD can be subtitled (the lack of subtitles in GVH1 will be always inexcusable) but ... in a CD ?? Will a transcription of the commentaries be included in the booklet? I really hope! If not ...yeah, I predict millionaire sales of the 2-cd edition in Japan, France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Portugal, Russia, China, Brazil, Argentina, Brazil, etc etc ... "secondary" countries where english (in the necessary level to understand an audio commentary by a native english) is not very "established" amongst population, I think.
Yes, we should ask Brian & Roger to have the same conversation in 10 different languages....

What is the point of this album? At least Queen Rocks had a new song and couple of remixes. Surely a double 40 track cd chronoloically would have been better with maybe something like robbery or dog with a bone as bonus tracks.
The point of this album is to raise Queen's profile among the general populace.  It's not (in its vanilla edition) aimed at the likes of us who spend hours daily on here debating the length of Freddie's moustache hair.

It may have escaped your notice but Queen tend to shy away from the chronological approach - all 3 GH albums, Rocks, reissue programmes (Hollywood, Spanish books, Japan mini-vinyl), DVD-A's, Live DVDs, Rare Live...none of them chronological.  And putting a random old demo on a Greatest Hits album would be a) insulting to the non-mass market who would be "forced" to buy 20 old hits in return for one old non-hit, b) alienating to the mass market they're aiming at

the word rip-off comes to mind all this is for is to generate  revenue for 2009 check led zep, def lep etc  free bonus discs demo's remixes etc  look what we get  either nothing or a big never seen before limted edition sticker on the front or a fookin cd of them talking.. i agree it will be a hash from the dvd-commentary lol  i felt like this on the queen-rocks album-rip off  its like they seriously have not got a clue or they genuine believe we want to sit and listen to them talking about the songs for the hundred-thhhhhh  time because queen fans have not seen or heard them talk about there material...yawns  the best value for money and exciting item was the freddie box set demos, mixes etc  roger and brian need to look at other bands and see how they think of there fans with well thought additions to a release. damn im mad  lol i would of been happy with a remastered cd of the 12in mixes instead of the actual hits cd there releasing lol   sorry bri and rog............major fail i feel like after 30yrs as a queen fan im being laughed at as they take our hard earned cash.  And thats a deffo no im not buying it lol queen know the cd is not a worthy release thats strong enough to stand alone thats why they added the amazing rocking in ya chairs talk cd haaa
So you're being ripped off because Queen have (by your prediction) used some old material out of the cupboard to support this release, when Led Zep & Def Lep did...oh wait, the same thing.

Been a fan for 30 years?  Deffo? Major fail?  You're down with the kids and no mistake.  You even spell like a 15 year old imbecile.

Now then, you think you're being laughed at as they take your cash, but you're not buying it?  How can they be laughing at you then?

Finally, in case you really are this stupid - THIS RELEASE IS NOT AIMED AT YOU.  GREATEST HITS ALBUMS ARE FOR THE MASS MARKET.
