Personally I ALWAYS listen to a stereo PCM track on a music DVD (if it has one).
I still think that a 5.1 mix is necessary to Star Wars, not to a rock concert recording

This also has to do with an individual's appreciation for music. I myself enjoy better sound.

Fair enough. Most of us do have an appreciation for quality on some level. But if you had to choose between a mono DVD of a 1970s concert or no DVD, which would you choose.. ?!

Not releasing Hammy '79 is just an incredible blunder...
And don't tell me they can't because they haven't got the multitrack. Thin Lizzy didn't have a multitrack for their Live and dangerous DVD release and they even made a surround mix! ( they first postponed the release too but when they found the search didn't lead anywhere they did what they could with the stereotapes, with great result)
