Lady Gaga often fascinates me. The visual imagery in Paparazzi is compelling and strange and arresting, and I love her acoustic version of 'Poker Face': Amy Winehouse meets Freddie Mercury meets Lewis Carroll's Mad Hatter. Like Freddie, she slips on the skin of 'Lady Gaga' like a jacket, but once on it all seems to bubble up madly and spontaneously from some exotic and wonderful place within.
The acoustic clip I referenced...if nothing else it should give you a glimpse of her vocal chops that you might find interesting:

First of all, thank you for the link. She obviously has some talent, but I just don't care for the way she is applying it I'm afraid. I thought perhaps without the crappy electronic music that would make a big difference, but I do not care for what she is selling. Obviously there are many who do, so maybe it is an age thing. I have a fairly high threshold for bizarre and avantgarde, but I'm afraid this goes beyond that. Adam's look and style are still in there, though if he were to take it to the Lady Gaga level, then I would depart from his camp as well. This worries me about his coming album, though I'm pretty sure he knows that what everyone loves first of all is his voice.
Adam has always liked getting decked out in one character or another, and I really don't see how having a theatrical quality that he uses in the rock world is any different than what others have done. Certainly Freddie had a penchant for it. Apparently you think Adam is just playing at rock star, but so many people are doing that onstage as a stage personna. Once again, Freddie wasn't the same person in private. Adam will either be able to sell it, or not. I suspect he might end up more as a pop singer, as I think he does a better job with more ballad-like songs, like Aerosmith's Cryin' than with something like Steppenwolf's Born To Be Wild.
Where does one cross over from rock to pop anyway?

The album is supposed to drop on November 23.
And I've seen the album cover. It looks like an ad for a bad drag show - from the picture right down to the cheesy lettering. All it needs now is the time, place, and cover charge.
