Here's something to consider while producing these so-called Limited Edition Box Sets for collectors. While I'm not a fan of Rammstein, they've actually managed to come up with something original, radical, and arguably interesting. It's completely ridiculous, it's very much German, and most importantly, it's personal (even if  in a more or less roundabout way), what I think is what most fans are really after. ;-)

I didn't buy one.  Couldn't justify the price..  Didn't get a QOL email about it, either, so it may have been sold out before I even found out about it.

Nope. That's why I said arguably. But the point was that it's a new way of thinking.

Though theoretically you are right, you missed one essential point.
This box set costs 250 to 300 euro's!!! And for that you get NOT A SINGLE NOTE OF MUSIC  more then there is on the standard cd!

So... is that REALY what you think fans REALY want?

Considering, then Absolute Greatest turt box set thing is better - as it is not even THAT much overpriced at all.

You did not read the entire post. It was about that RAMMSTEIN box set!

Jjeroen you're right, I'm sorry.  I was a little bit to hasty with my reply. After I posted my message I couldn't change it.

But we agree that the AG box is not that much overpriced.

The Rammstein box costs 180 euro including:

- 1 CD: 20 euro
- 1 set of handcufs: 15 euro
- 10 ml lubricant: 5 euro
- 1 metal(?) case: 15 euro

So that's aprox. 120 euro for 6 pink toys, that makes 20 euro each. Seems a normal price to me.
The pink ones are copys of the bandmembers' private parts. It suits very well in the context of their song/video Pussy.
I like their sense of humor and some of their songs, but I'm not a fan. If I was I'd buy it for that price!

There's something deliciously absurd about the fact that many would like to see posts such as the first one in this thread banned.  Banning a band from spamming a fan site of their own fans!  That's got to be an embarrassment for them.  In effect we're saying to them:  Hey, you lot!  Go peddle yer crap elsewhere!  I'm not even sure Treasure Moment can claim such "unique" fan support.

I was under the impression that the Queenzone Ghost was Jacky, and I wondered how/why she came up with that name for herself.  Thanks for clarifying that, Richard.  If I've posted incorrect information on QZ that said Jacky was the QZ Ghost, I apologize for any confusion.

RE the AG Box Set.  I have multiple copies of all the original LPs on vinyl, and multiples of most official releases on CD, and all of the DVDs (I think) but I draw the line at buying the same recordings again--not just the same songs, but the same recordings.  It's not as if they need us to help them put their kids through school.  I agree with JSS and others in this thread that a single thread of "band offerings" would more than suffice.

So was V'ger and it almost destroyed the universe.

Now for some great news:

Target is offering 8pk Bounty Giant Roll Paper Towels for $9.99 this week.  Tide 100 ounce liquid is only $12.  And if you really want to liven up the party this weekend, 96oz bottles of Clorox?  3 for $5.  Prices are good thru 11/16.

Have you ever thought about writing one (= 1!) thread about Queen news and replying to it every week with new stuff ?

Good idea - or perhaps a separate thread for 'Queen on-line advertising'.
