No band from the 70s can put out a record today that competes with music that was written at their creative peak, with or without the original members.
Though anything they write now, outside of their "creative peak", is certainly better than most of what's being called music today. Most of the artists I can stand from today are the ones who're inspired by Queen.

Interestingly enough, you have expressed your humble opinion about their little side project umpteen times now. It's getting a bit tedious.

Interestingly enough, no matter how many times we tell him that it's gotten tedious, past expiry date, etc., he'll continue to say things the fans don't want to hear cos he knows it will annoy us anyways.

I don't agree!...Queen havn't released good music for a very long time.  If brian and roger wern't playing on TCR you wouldn't have given it a second thought.

You're right, for many of the songs.  But "All Things That Glitter" has that instantly recognizable classic Queen sound.

I agree!.....that's a good one.  My favorite on TCR.

Beautiful song, which sadly is aching for a "proper" bass line.

My favorite songs in TCR are Cosmos Rockin', Time to Shine and Some Things that Glitter.

I can certainly hear the Queen sound in songs like Glitter, Burnin' and (whether you like it or not) We Believe but I think the song that made me think Q+PR were getting a sound of their own and actually had a future was Surf's Up... School's Out.

Too bad they are not working together anymore.

Time to Shine really got on my nuts.  I couldn't help but think of the theme song from the first "Never Ending Story" film.  Really, the only songs that did it for me were "Some Things That Glitter", "C-Lebrity", and "Say It's Not True".  And since I heard 2 of those before the full album came out, the album itself held very little appeal for me.
But hey there's people who like the whole thing, so who am I to comment!
glitter and voodoo were the only songs that do it for me. Say it's not true was nice with roger only on vocals. The paul bit fits nicely, though brian (i'm not sure why) I don't like on it.   There's something about brians voice these days i don't like.  He sounds winey, like he's ready to cut his wrist. can't explain it,  though i'm sure "the church of brian" is gonna come out of the woodwork and disagree.  god!..... you guys are worse than the church of freddie!

I won't disagree that he's not up to snuff on "Say It's Not True".  I'm unrepentant in saying that his singing on Another World blows PR's stuff on TCR out of the water, not because of technical ability, but because it sounds like he actually gives a crap about his music and he is trying.

Paul Rodgers just sounds like he's trying to get the song done before he has to catch his bus home.  Only on C-Lebrity and Say It's Not True does he sing like he cares.
I'm not a fan of brians voice over a full album, I like him in spots like the old Queen albums.  2 songs per album, but I agree.  paul doesn't do it for me on TCR. Just going through the motions.  Brians voice is actually pretty strong on another world, the best of his career, though the songs are lacking IMO.  I like his voice on "the wilderness".....the title track,  and does a pretty good Job on the rocker "cyborg"  Kind of reminds me a bit of geddy lee on that one..... so yea,  I like Another world better. Vocally and musically.

Seriously.....Stop whineing about Absoloute Greatest already! My Mum actually brought it for me cos it was on specail offer & I actaully enjoy comliamtion Cd's plus it adds to my Queen  collection, which I was pleased about  xD & Im not being rude but...your 'solution' is rubbish, seeing as people have already brought the album/keep buying them.

I think this C.D is aimed at people who like Queens well known songs but wouldnt go and but the whole trio of GH's nor all Queens Albums. Its a good X-mas Present for 'Queen-likers' & hopefully new fans will emerge from buying the C.D.

So to all of you moaning: It's only a complimation CD.
