Hi all,

I own a copy of Mr Bad Guy on CD. I know these are rare and there are alot of fakes around, so my question is is there any way to tell if mine is fake or not?

The catalouge number matches the French issue CD. Any clues?
Contact me, I'm no Darth Vader.
If the booklet has 1 staple through it, it's fake. If it has two, it's the real deal. At least, that's what I was told a couple of years back.
After a thorough listening if it's real you'll immediately and spontaneously blurt out "What the fuck Fred?!"
Well, mine has two staples.

I wouldn't know.

My Mr Bad Guy album is inside my Freddie Mercury solo collection big book type thingy...

Which i love, btw.

But much prefer the Queen songs to Freddie solo. Much much muchly.
Some guy on Ebay offered one that claimed to be the real deal and he said the difference was that the real one had a number on the back of the back cover, that is, below the CD tray.

Like 10 years ago I read that the matrix number, printed on the inner "groove" of the CD (I know that's not the term) was different. The original one had many numbers and the fake one had only 2 letters and 3 numbers or something. LMXXX
I have one I bought around 1998 and back then I checked online and found out that mine was fake (according to the previous statement).

After that, I even started noticing that the print quality on the booklet was not perfect.

I really want mine to be real, but I guess it's not. Hopefully someone can prove me wrong, hehe :).

Apparently the real french CD is a rarity. Isn't it? At least it was before the Freddie Box came out.
We've got a copy of the French one.  I'll have to check mine.
My CD's catalog number is CDCBS86312 and below it it has a CK 40071.
The inside of the CD, right next to the center, has the number 342 in it. Nothing behind the CD tray. Nothing else.
If it contains really great pop/rock music that is catchy and you can't stop listening to....... its a fake.

;-)
well,  I know "love me like there's no tomorrow" is a great great song.  Probably my favorite solo song from a queen member.  (except for barcelona of course).   How about let's turn it on?....ok, let's not get crazy!....I could do without that one.
