Roger sings the higher harmonyn in the Stafleet chorus. It's a high note but nothing Brian couldn't hit by himself - maybe he just wanted that kind of sound. The sound of their voices combined is great (e.g. Son and Daughter). Maybe that's another 'ultimate list' I should do: bits sung by Fred only, by Rog only, by Bri only, by Fred+Bri, Fred+Rog, Bri+Rog.

That would be great - I'd love to see a breakdown of the less obvious parts (I listened to Play The Game actually today in 5.1 and was stumped as to which was brian and which was Roger on a couple of parts!)

I think I'll add that when I put the solo stuff on my website. I hope it's soon, I'm already beginning to research.

Do we know if John or Roger played the Red Special on any tracks that they played guitar on?
Five years later, the matter's been sorted by the Doctor on the book about the Red Special: Roger recorded the three-part harmony bit on 'A Kind of Magic', the one after Fred sang 'secret harmonies,' using Brian's guitar.

Now that is an interesting tidbit..........somehow picturing Roger playing the Red Special is difficult for me.......LOL

BM's Burns double six appears to actually be a Baldwin. Pictures if it clearly show a Baldwin scratch plate. The guitars were essentially the same as each other, apart from badging, and I believe, pickup types.
On the works tour he had two Guilds. A prototype and a pre production guitar. The obvious difference between the two was that one had BM stamped Dimarzio pickups while the other had plain black casings.

There's even a video from a 1977 rehearsal featuring Rog playing the BHM guitar, and Freddie on drums!

Yeah but that was 18 months later. Fred was most likely referring to the Birch bespoke.

Yeah but he didn't actually record with it, it was just to mime in the video. We could add other guitars to that list, such as the Satellite Strat, etc.

Whilst not on a Queen record, Brian did play live (at The Brits??) and used one of Richie Sambora's guitars I think. Not sure what though without checking the footage, though around that time Sambora was mostly playing Kramer or Strats.

That Washburn wasn't a true flying V the body shape was a sharks Fin
The Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy BBC vid is the only time I'm aware of BM using the Greco. The guitar was not an accurate copy, in fact nothing about it mached anything on the original. Greco built them in the mid 70's for the Japanese market, some found their way to Europe and the US. They sent BM the one he was using, but he never really liked it. He did contact Greco and suggested that he get together with them to make the guitar a more accurate official replica, they declined.
