In the recent Mojo interview with Brian. Brian States he has not seen Deaky since 2002.
I find this rather sad :( I respect John's wishes to put Queen behind him, but to cut himself off from seeing Bri & Roger is a shame.

It makes sense since he died in 2003.

I guess since they don't share views on music (or desire to create music?)- they don't have much to talk about.
Brian is happy to do what he is doing in music business (plus writing etc.)
John probably is happy living his quiet life and can't care less what people think about him.
So, it's not so sad.

This is a bit of a Holy Grail of rock history for me. Why has he made the decisions he's made? They're all still in business together by virtue of the nature of the music industry. Is it odd that they haven't seen each other in 7 years? Is it not odd? Some tend to build narratives around the little bits of things we know to prop up opinions we already have about other things. The only thing that seems certain is that at some point something changed.

John did not make it to the Freddie memorial. I can't believe he was not invited. IMO he definitely should have been there.
Or maybe he blames Freddie for ending his Rock N ROll career so abruptly and forcing him into early retirement.

Makes sense to me.
He's retired and Brian isn't. Why would they see each other?
Maybe when they're both retired they'll have coffee sometime, but I imagine there's still a lot of tension right now.

its not like they don't stay in touch. just because they haven't seen each other for 7 years doesn't mean they don't speak to each other. but i do find it sad that they haven't seen each other for that length of time.

Brian and Roger has joined Paul Rodgers back in 2004, right? Brian has stated that John didn't want to be part of the whole Q+PR project but that he approved what they were doing. So that's not 7 years, just 5.
There's also the possibility of they just talked by phone and didn't see each other personally.

7 years, Brian's words, but yes, I would imagine that they have talked on the phone. Something like, "Hi John, Bri here, the new album Absolute Greatest's selling well, should be some money coming your way" lol.

They didn't speak together, they communicated via mail as Roger said on the ANATO documentary
