I don't know what he used, but I believe each song has its own VTS file because he edited each song separately.The sound quality varies simply because it was difficult to find good sources. Most people filmed only a couple of songs each, or even only parts of songs - and until now, nobody has mentioned the existence of any audio recording. There wasn't a complete (neither "nearly complete") source. If you listen closely, sound quality sometimes varies throughout the same song, it's pretty noticeable on Fat Bottomed Girls and Seagull.
