Well, if you wanted to bring Freddie and John into the equation, none of the interviews that I've seen/heard with Freddie or John indicate that they were fond of tooting their own horns.

It just seems Brian is quick to single out his individual contributions, and does it in a way where he's trying to come off as informative, but anyone that's onto his 'style' knows he's just massaging his own ego.

And no, I don't have anything against Brian. He's a brilliant musician, a fact that can't be overlooked.

Regarding whether Brian contributed more than Roger or not... depends on how you look at it. In terms of songwriting, definitely; producing, ditto (as a consequence of the previous one). But Roger probably participated on more recordings as nobody else played drums, while the whole band played guitars. He was also more involved in vocals than the Dr, and took care of some very important decisions (such as suggesting Bo Rhap as a single, finding Musicland Studios with John and re-hiring Roy Thomas Baker).

So it was fairly equal IMO.
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.
