Before Queen recorded at Trident John used a Rickenbacker 4001. Theoretically the album version of "The Night Comes Down" should feature this instrument.

Agree or disagree?

Visit my website, the answer's there.
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.

yes, I have seen that, but you wrote that both P-bass and Rick were used for TNCD: http://sebastian.queenconcerts.com/1-tncdown.htm

I don't want to say something stupid, but I doubt they recorded two basses. The sound on the recording is quite flat. It would not be really typical for Queen in the early 1970s to record the bass twice. Of course I might be wrong.

Oh, I understand. Sorry!
You have put the Trident recording and the DeLaneLea on one page and thus list both basses.
Sorry for any inconvenience.

No matter what bass guitar it was that he was using,it was brilliant bass playing from John,as usual.
