anyone still use or collect beta video,i have a couple to swap if interested.
g hits 1 .and the miracle vid single.
looking for tour progs......japan progs would be nice.

A Word In Your Ear
Ah!!! the blessed Betamax Video, A far better quality format of Video than the VHS, but unfortunatly lost out in the "VHS vs Beta" war of the '80's. (simular situation, to the recent BluRay vs HD)
Up untill the digital age, I believe TV stations used to use Beta rather than VHS, just because of the better quality aspect.
Also I have fond memories of Beta, our fist Video recorder in our house was a "Clunky" toploader Beta :-)

I still have my Rock In Rio beta cassette!! Bought it new and never played it, as I never replaced the Beta machine when it broke.
Still have about a dozen old cassettes, including a Men At Work EP, an Eddie Murphy concert, and Michael Mann's highly sought The Keep.

Erm, that would be BetaCAM, not Betamax....
Up until a few years ago, BetaCam was still used for recording Standard Def programmes. Now, as you say, they tend to use digital hard drive recorders.

When I was in film school a few short years ago Betamax tapes were still being used.
