How long does it usually take Brian May to reply to an email?

I just emailed Brian May (hopefully he'll get it) about whether or not I can have permission to use a couple of Queen songs in a non-profit video that the local library is going to make in order to get kids more interested in using the library. For those who have emailed him before, how long does it usually take for him to reply?

I mailed him on Dec. 29, 2009 about if I can use the OWL even though I'm almost legally blind in one eye. and I still have yet to get  a reply.

I don't think he replies to them all, of course.

Then again, maybe my subject shouldn't have been "FUCKING HEY HEY HEY YOU OLD BASTARD"

I've sent a couple of e-mails during the years to his mail address and never got any answer

I honestly think it's just dumb luck as to whether or not he answers.  I've mailed him once or twice over the years, the only one he's answered was about a 12 string RS.  Short e-mail, short and friendly answer!

He usually replies a couple of days later, or never.
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.

I think you stand a better chance of getting a reply with a good old fashioned letter. I wrote to him once and got a lovely reply, which i treasure. On the other hand i wrote to Roger and didn't get didlly squat !

I got a reply in a week, and the subject was stereo photo stuff.  Wasn't expecting it, and it still makes me happy many months later. :)

It's pretty amazing the volume he does manage to reply to, as indicated anecdotally and through the letters section.  We're a pretty lucky bunch of fans.

You may get on a bit quicker if you contact Jacky at the Fan Club. I got a reply within a day or so even after I had mailed BM.com and I find she is a little more on the ball than Jen.(maybe less snowed under??)
I asked whether it was ok to use a selection of Queen solo's that I had recorded myself to highlight the Adeson pickups (this was before BM camp and Guyton started using them so it could have been seen then as using his stuff to sell) a competitors products?  He sent me a very nice letter. He also commented very positively recently on my version of All Dead All Dead !!

I wrote to Jackie once asking for autographs but was told 'they're too busy' and 'get lost' (or slightly more polite words to that effect)

As far as using Queen music for what the original poster wants you may better better off contacting the 'company'

i sent him a few messages like a few months ago and haven't heard back. he's busy. don't expect to get a reply. if you're lucky then you might get one.

I had a next day reply from him regarding stereo photography, after the lecture he did at Bradford, guess I just got lucky or he replied quickly because it wasn't anything to do with Queen.

He's never replied to the two i've sent.

I'm just not lucky enough.

Got mine within 48 hours.  However, I have a feeling someone else screens his emails and passes along the ones he may wish to see.  Just a hunch.
