I like my little town, but God it makes the idea of QZ meetups somewhat impossible for me.  I mean I'm just dying to meet Mahler.

Scotty one can live in the most exciting ciy in the world, have friends, have a well paid job, apear like a fully well adjusted person and be so unhappy and lonely.  Living in Perth, with the best lemoon meringue pie and hot cross buns, and stolen blue cheese is surely preferable no?

Well I do like eating other people's food for the camera.  it is fun .  but its also impossible to convince internet people to visit Perth because it is as far as Pluto from everyone elses lands.  Which is rather a great pity because .. BECAUSE IT IS

Rubbish. It much worse to live in European country and be restricted to move to the other one, work elsewhere etc. It's like you are surrounded by walls.

At least it's warm there.

I don't know why, but I have a special liking for everything British. For now, all I can do is watch a lot of BBC and be satisfied with that 'coz I couldn't possibly go there in the foreseeable future.

Wish you all the best with your trip LoosingMyBeat!

Thank you! I've always wanted to visit London so this is not only a gift for my mother but also a dream vacation for me.
Lucky enough it's pretty cheap to travel to the UK from Sweden. The flight is only 45 £ (both ways) and our hotel will cost about 300£ for 5 nights, not too shabby hotel either. If I was going alone I would settle for a much cheaper hotel but since
it's my mothers birthday I did not want to put her in a roach-infested closet ;) That could easily turn into a nightmare, better be on the safe side.
Does anyone know a decent and cheap hotel near Kensington feel free to tell me!
You say you will if you could but you can't

Sniff - should have walked on past you're right.  And right.

Soho was quite a mindboggling experience, when I was in London. In fact, the whole area is quite black-white in terms of atmosphere. A dragqueen was chatting me up. Two people nearly got laid in the middle of the street. The hamburger in some random pub, however, was one of the best I have ever eaten.

I have friends telling me not to visit it.  I'd call a vote but none of my friends are smart enough to figure out preferential voting.

Yeah!  See that's why I want to wait until I have more money than simply the amount required to fly there, get stuck in a room for a couple of days, then fly back.

Soho is totally worth visiting, it's where Les Miserables lives. *nods*
