The fact that you constantly focus on my sexuality (and that of male Queen fans) suggests that you are either genuinely homphobic or you are a troll who doesn't know when to stop. Enough is enough!

I know what the differences between "fact and "opinion" are, MORON! I was making FUN of Treasure Moment.

This statement alone has rendered you unable to discuss music with 99.999% of the civilized world.  Honestly, why do you even bother?

No band will ever be bigger or better than The Beatles.  They connected with billions of people around the world.  Their music is perfect and timeless.  If it wasn't, they wouldn't have been the best-selling artists of the last decade (30+ years after their demise), even without the remasters. [/QUOTE]
Sir GH, I love the Beatles and I agree that they were probably the greatest group of all time, but their sales isn't evidence of their quality. Their sales is simply evidence of their popularity, and simply because an artist is popular, does not make them great or even good. As an example, I couldn't care less how many albums Kelly Clarkson has sold or will sell. IMO she will always be crap. I also don't think that U2 and Aerosmith are nearly as good as their commercial success might indicate and I don't think that Mariah Carey has recorded a single memorable song (although I do think she is fairly talented.)

If Skip believes that Kiss was better than the Beatles, he's perfectly entitled to his opinion. I don't like Skip, I think he's a nasty guy and alot of his reasons for preferring Kiss to Queen are probably silly or factually wrong (such as the 'live' nature of Kiss Alive versus Live Killers) but his opinion that Kiss is better than the Beatles is neither right nor wrong. The fact that the rest of the world disagrees with him is irrelevent; afterall I think that John Lennon is one of the most *overrated artists of all time and I am perfectly able to discuss music with the rest of the world.

*I don't say that to be merely provocative. I genuinely believe that he, along with the Rolling Stones, Robert Plant and Aretha Franklin, were among the most overrated artists of the past 50 years.

I agree, sales shouldn't be an indication of whether or not an artist is great.

But unlike The Beatles... U2, Aerosmith, and Kelly Clarkson are still current artists (well, perhaps not Aerosmith at the moment).  Let's see how many records they sell 30 years after they're over and done with.

If something sells big when it is popular, it's often because it's a fad geared by heavy marketing.  The fad dies away, and so do the sales in most cases, which then tells the tale of whether or not something had quality.  However, quality acts soon aren't seen as fads, as the quality speaks for itself in due time, which leads to longevity.

Therefore, sales, in the sense of The Beatles, is longevity.  And to me, that equates with quality.  That's why I think The Beatles are the greatest band ever, never to be matched.

like brian may once said "no one will better the beatles"  I'm sure freddie would agree 100%.  It doesn't mean the beatles has to be your personal favorite....I like a lot of their stuff,   but they're far from my favorite.

That's not fact, it's your opinion.  It's obvious you don't know the difference.

That being the case, why do you post your opinion so often?  Is it an insecurity thing or what?

Brian's friends with Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, and Eric Singer.  He even showed up at Gene's bowling birthday bash.

Paul and Roger had a mutual friend in common and hung out in the '70s.

But it was never the centrepiece to Queen's show.  It merely augmented what was already happening on stage.  What would Kiss' show be without the make-up, pyro, and gimmicks?  It'd be a bunch of average musicians playing average songs for average people.

I don't give a rat's ass about The Beatles.  Neither do a lot of people.  Who cares if they're the biggest band in the world?
I don't.  I never gave them any of my money.  And it will always stay that way.  The Beatles never made me want to pick up a guitar, learn how to play, then form a band.   But KISS did.  And so did Queen.  And so did Black Sabbath.

Any song with Ringo singing on it is far from perfect.

It's obvious you know nothing about KISS.  KISS was hired as the first act on the newly formed Casablanca Records.
Neil Bogart heard their demo tape, which was recorded by Eddie Kramer, and loved the music.  They were offered the recording contract.  It was after this that Bogart saw photos of KISS.  He wanted KISS to remove the makeup, KISS said no, and KISStory was made.

It began with the music.  It's always been about the music, first.

When it comes to average musicians, there are drummers who drum circles around Roger Taylor, guitarists who are far better than Brian May, bass players like Geddy Lee who make John Deacon look like a 1st year student, piano players like Elton John who simply embarrass Freddie Mercury's playing, and singers like Steve Perry who outshined him on cd and live in concert.  Queen put out a lot of crap throughout their career.  They put out their share of below average songs.

So, you're now speaking for and interpretting for Brian May?  Shut the fuck up already.

You're the one who had the need to declare that you were gay.  Honestly, I could give a rat's ass who you sleep with.
Maybe you have issues with your own sexuality.  Otherwise, why the need to bring it up on a Queen discussion board?

If my posts bother you so much, then simply don't read them.

Sure, if there were some interesting Queen threads unlike the constant crappy threads that are posted here:

Did Freddie ever see the movie ET?

Mooghead "Brits in particular dont like people who make them jealous."

Freddie's Fragrance

The only reason I come on this discussion board is to find out about:

1) Queen dvd releases.

2) What Brian is up to musically.

3) What Roger is up to musicially.

4) If there's any word on a rarities/demos box set.

And finally, to the KISS haters (you know who you are), it is O.K. to like more than one band.
