ok hopefully the experts here will tell if this is a myth or not,apparently freddies last interview went along the lines of this-"You're the last person I'm talking to, so you'll probably get the best interview, darling. now i as far as i know he didnt give interviews after 1990,this quote also appears in the queen champions of the world film,i have a feeling this was just an clip taken from an old interview and put together,now if anyone knows if this was his actual last interview could you explain the history of it,the date etc and what was going on at the time,thank you for reading this

that's one of Freddie's remarks from an interview in the mid 80's... it's been officially released now, can't remember on which dvd. he'd been doing press for awhile and meant that the interview that was about to begin was his last for the day.
as far as I know / have read, Freddie kept quite silent after 1990... once Innuendo press was over (filming the EPK, videos) i don't think he granted any volunteer statements (other than the occasional soundbyte on the fly to the hounding British tabloids) again until his admission of having AIDS.
i'm sure others on the forum could give better info for sure, but i know that interview quote and your instincts were right - it was grabbed from an older interview...

This interview was on the bonus DVD of Greatest Video Hits 2. When he said "last person I'm talking to" I thought he meant last person on that day (he was promoting the Works tour so probably gave a press conference or other interviews before this interview with one of the Doro Cousins).
His last interview caught on video was a few years later and this one is on the Lover of Songs bonus DVD.

last radio interview: Queen for an hour, May 1989. BBC Radio 1
last DoRo/film interview: 'jukebox' as seen on LOLSOS DVD.
last TV interview: Spanish TV TVE with Montserrat Caballe, 1987 OR Covent Garden Royal Opera House report , with Montserrat Caballe. Update: definitely the Royal Opera house was later, by more than a year. Musicbox TV - Off The Wall programme

Freddie was either not interviewed at TATDOOL video shoot, or DoRo kept every second of it secret. I suppose the first one - he was never interviewed! I have seen Brian , Roger, and John various segments from the TATDOOL session interviews in various documentaries, but never FM. Same goes for HEADLONG!

Dont know the exact date of the opera house stuff - As it Began or Freestone's book have the date.
update: 10.10.1998, 2 days after La Nit. Crush Bar at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden - UK launch for Barcelona album - that was the time when a huge 'Barcelona' billboard was arranged at the side of the motorway into London, from Heathrow - "to make her feel welcome".
Of course we have on board the official archivist of the band, surely its not a big corporate secret to tell us the definitive answer - or is it?
