I know the concert is not on video/dvd anywhere and i have seen some clips of it on youtube but is there a clip of when freddie is telling some people off for fighting?
Some of it is on the film, if I remember correctly.
But the footage is so distant that you just see a white blob saying things.

There are so many pictures about Slane Castle around that maybe....
I heard that might probably be around a audience video for Stockholm 7 June 86.
It ll be fantastic.
Fred again in yellow pants!!!

I was at the gig in Slane, which is in Co. Louth, not Dublin as history records it. The support included The Fountainhead, The Bangles and Chris Rea. My first ever gig was Queen at the RDS Dublin and I met all the guys the next day at the Gresham Hotel, O'Connell St, Dublin. It was an amazing gig and is still what i judge all gigs against.
I didn't enjoy Slane. The weather was shit as were most of the support acts, although I do have a photo of Suzzana Hoffs (Bangles) doing the splits on stage about 5 meters away from me... When Queen came on the crowd went mental, as only an Irish crowd can, but something felt wrong and I decieded to move back (by the way, I've been in the mosh pit for Stiff Little Fingers, The Sex Pistols and countless other bands) and about three or four songs in, Freddie said "stop it" and the band ground to a halt. He told the crowd to calm down "we don't like it when it's like this" and they got going again shortly after. I've got the gig on cassette although it's a fairly poor copy.
The rest of the gig (for me) wasn't a patch on the RDS gig a few years before.

I just remembered that after the gig, me and a mate managed to jump over the barrier between the crowd and the stage and went back stage. No one approached us and we were able to wander around. Queen had arrived in a helicopter and as we were looking for them it took off, so we climbed back into the crowd and walked the seven miles back to Drogheda and slept in a field as we'd missed the last train back to Dublin.

Correction: I haven't lived in Ireland for about 17 years, Slane is of course in Co. Meath, not Dublin or Louth...

Were you at the first or second concert in 1984? Any memories from 1984? Those concerts are not that well documented.
If you have any trouble with downloading PM me and I'll help you out.
