Hello! How are you? What you may to say about this: During the 20 years of successful concert and studio careers, recorded a lot of good albums and has always gave good concerts, and this is indisputable. Why do everyone thinks that the best was a concert at Wembley Stadium in 1986, and why one of the best albums It is A Night at the Opera?

Do you think also?

and another thing I would like to know:
Do you like album soundtrack "Flash Gordon" the film eponymous ? Why this album soundtrack, became the failed album in history Queen?

As I said in another topic I don't bother to read  all this ranking and rating as it is absurd.
What is the purpose of making music? Sure the bands have to sell albums to survive, but the best selling album isn't necessarily the best from an artistic point of view.

"Flash Gordon" was no real Queen album, it was a soundtrack. And as a soundtrack to the movie it worked nice, but it was not an album to really listen to. Some things work, some things do not work as intended. It might have been a good EP. But then fans would complain about all the missing songs.....

"A Night at the opera" in connection with Bohemian Rhapsody was probably the first Queen album for many people in those days. From there many became fans and went in both directions. Some went forward with the band, some wanted more and one by one also bought the first three albums.

Going forward from there you never knew what happened next. You rarely saw Queen on tv, all you had was an album that had to last for a year. And maybe a tour.

"News of the world" indicated a change in direction, so did "The Game" and as most bands lifespan was usually no longer than three years, each album could have been the beginning of the end. "Hot Space" was a difficult moment.

I think it was Live Aid, that  finally made Queen bigger than they really were in their active days. Wembley 86 looked a bit like a full-length "Live Aid", and that's maybe the reason, why many people consider this as a highlight.
But I'm quite sure those who really saw their earlier concerts will have different impressions.

What do you think about Freddie Mercury, not given his talent

I've been following Queen for over 30 years, so I guess my opinion counts for something.

Best Queen concert? That's subjective. They were all good, but my personal favorite is the 24 December 1975 concert from Hammersmith Odeon in London.  They were really on fire that night.

I agree that "A Night at the Opera" was their best album, but, again, that's subjective.

"Flash Gordon" was a movie soundtrack album, so I don't think it's fair to compare it to the rest of the Queen oeuvre.

Its Freddie having a joke with the crowd. A "tart" is a slang term for a person who dresses up and sleeps around.....

I too am one of the older generation fans and yes, my fave album is ANATO. But thats also because of nostalgia. My older brother got it for his christmas that year and we played it at 4 in the morning. Once it was finished, we played it again just to enjoy the musical magic that engulfed our ears......

Best concert (or concerts) for me was Glasgow 79, Edinburgh 82 and Knebworth 86.

Each time has it's pros and cons. You grow up with the internet and so much Queen music being available. You have all the wealth of concert recordings - official und unofficial - and other stuff you can chose from.
"Growing up" with Queen meant, that there was nothing else besides one regular album each year - and the concerts. Queen never appeared on tv and also there was very little press.

But in a way it all made things maybe a bit more precious.
And in general music was more important then, as it was the main media for young people.

But the internet era with all it's possibilities is also exciting. You can talk /write to people on the other side of the world and within seconds you get a reply...
And it's sometimes sad to see, what some people make of it...but that's a different topic...;-)
