Crazy Little Thing. Man on the Prowl is just another of the reasons I rarely listen to "The Works."

How boring. You're favorite album must be one of the first four?

"The Game" was very successful for Queen in America but with "Hot Space" they lost a lot of the american audience. So to me "The Works" (even a slightly similar title) sounded a bit like an attempt to be a "The Game"-part two.
The "Don't try Suicide" - quote in "Keep passing", "Man on the Prowl" sounding like a follow up to "Crazy little thing", "It's a hard life" following "Play the Game". And finally an attempt to write a follow-up for the live version of "Love of my life".

All in all some great songs but after "Jazz"  the albums somehow lost a certain flow and sounded more like collections of songs by the individual members.

Oh, just because Crazy Little Thing Called Love came out first, it doesn't mean shit, and doesn't matter." Uh, yes it does matter. It matters a great deal. If CLTCL was a huge success, and not just commercially,  then it kinda matters whether MOTP sounds exactly like it.

"Man On The Prowl is definetely not a poor man's version of Crazy Little Thing Called Love, at all. In fact, I'm sure it cost a lot more to do that song." You do realise that the expression (poor man's version of...) does not refer to much money it cost to make it?! It refers to whether it is merely a rip-off of the original song.

"Learn complexity, because what you are saying is like saying 'Hammer To Fall' is the poor man's version of 'Put Out The Fire'." LOL. Wow, some people sure feel threatened when others voice different opinions. You do realise that not everybody has to agree with you? Anyway, I don't need to 'learn complexity.' MOTP is IMO a rip-off of CLTCL, and I stand by that. As for Hammer To Fall' being the poor man's version of 'Put Out The Fire', I never said that.

"Can I call you MIKE LOVE?" No, you can call me Brian Wilson. Can I call you Yoko Ono? (rolls eyes)

Crazy little thing is the better song

Queen never repeated themselves. Crazy Little Thing and Man on The Prowl are both great songs and are diff styles of rockabilly. They are not the same.  Love 'em both.

Fred Mandel's piano is great though!
Yep. I wish I could play like that, but when I'm on the piano I tend to write depressing or odd shit. Some people call it emo. I call it typical.
I hate the ending of MOTP the way it cuts off it ruins it

I agree. Why the end of that song is so abrupt? Sometimes the production in Queen albums, specially from the 80's, is very weak.
Sometimes I get the impression that they weren't working too hard in those years like in the glorious (musically) era of ANATO and ADATR, and the music they made in those years (I mean Hot Space, The Works, AKOF, The Miracle) could have been much better if they were more inspired. In the other hand, I find Innuendo a very inspired album. Wonderful music.
