Mealoaf would've made a good replacement for Fred. Better than Paul Rodgers anyway -- more suited to Queen's style of operatic, over-the-top performances. No disrespect meant to Rodgers, who is very talented in his own area of blues-rock.

Well, a few songs with Brian, and one with Roger just doing a few vocals, thats all.

I have the album, giving it a listen to..

But its not as Queen orientated at I had been led to believe

Which tracks feature Brian/Roger?

Brian sang on Way Down and Roger sang on Your Shoes. I think there might be one more song that Brian worked on, but I don't know which one. I was disappointed to see that it doesn't look like Roger did any drumming on the album.

Way Down is available in full on Taylor Hawkin's website. You can preview Your Shoes on Amazon right now and it's pretty obviously Roger doing background vocals.

Been listening to the album on Spotify this evening, pretty good. Defo Roger on backing vocals on Your Shoes, and what sounds quite a bit like Brian on guitar in places. Not Bad Luck is very Queen-esq, but if anything they only did the backing vocals there. Sounds like Brian plays on Don't Have To Speak.

Don't the sleeve notes with the CD say what tracks they are on?

I thought the same about "Don´t Have To Speak" while listening it in the car this evening. It´s the other song I´d bet Brian is in ... but it´s difficult to say, as there are many guitars throughout the album and many little parts that make you think "ah, that´s Brian for sure!"

Let´s wait until someone has access to the sleeve notes and the mistery is solved. But yeah, I´d say "Don´t Have To Speak" can be the other track with Brian.

Btw ... great album by Mr. Hawkins. Highly recommended. Can´t stop listening. And what a voice !! I strongly believe a more extensive collaboration between Bri/Rog and Taylor Hawkins could have a GREAT album as a result.

Just another example of great musicians joining up with others when they should be playing together anyways. Now if we could get Roger to quit recording the same predictable anti-government and political protest songs. lol.  I love Roger's work and all, but you don't need nor do the fans want to hear the same sounds and subjects in 60% of an artists tracks. Maybe i'm wrong, or just picky.  I feel their potential as singers/musicians are just being hidden with stuff like this, they need to be independent once again, no cameo's or licks here and there. But it is nice to hear them recording with friends.
better sit back and go with the flow.

Not a bad song.

And i'm all for Roger in his freedom of speach.

When you dont care one bit about politics. You have chosen not to change things for the better ?

According to the sleeve notes Brian plays guitar on Way Down and Don't Dave to Speak. Roger provides backing vocals on Your Shoes. Brian receives the first writing credit on Way Down and Roger also receives a writing credit for Your Shoes. Unfortunately Roger doesnt drum on any of the tracks.

ah ! fantastic, Paul, thankyou ! now it´s obvious anyone couldn´t go wrong about Brian playing on "Don´t Have To Speak" after listening to the song.

Reading a few interviews with TH it appears the whole album is a bit of a mix regarding who plays what. The only thing he would say is Grohl does 90% of the album and what sounds like Brian isn't always it's the Elliot guy from the cars.
And I can hear Roger doing BV's on way down. Karoke function on the soundcard very useful.
