Among the persons killed are the president and his wife, a former president, both vice-presidents of the House, the vice-president of the Senate, the head of National Security, many top ranking government officials, a significant part of the church leadership and the commanders of the Operational Forces, the Air Force, the Ground Forces, the Navy, the Special Forces and the Military Training Center. A complete list has been published in Polish. The number of dead is conflictingly reported as 89, 91, 96 or 97, and CNN reports that none of the bodies has been identified yet, and that identification will be difficult.
