Who are any of you to judge? Freddie lived the life he lived. Would it have been wonderful if he had lived? Of course. But he didn't. That's just the way it is. Whether Freddie would have done the same thing again if he had another chance is something I can't answer, but I do know that in life people make their own decisions, and it's not up to others to pick at the decisions. Freddie's early death, just like that of dozens of other rock stars, does not make him a bad person and nor does it affect his contributions to the world.

A comment was also made about his letting down his 'business partners.' Well, Roger/Brian/John were more than simply his business partners. They were also his friends. But, that said, how do we know what would have happened if he had lived? Maybe the group would have broken up in the early 1990's. We don't know what would have happened.

The idea that Freddie should have stayed in the closet simply to satisfy Queen's fans is also disgusting. He had every right to live the live he wanted to live, and that is what he did.

I had actually not wanted to post on this thread, but this makes me absolutely furious. The fact that certain posters (and I'm not surprised it's them) would make such pointlessly disgusting comments doesn't so much as surprise me as saddens me. Horrible.

guys and gals, what's all this fussing about?....Freddie did have his addictions, or weakeness if you will, but so does most of us out here in the world of average joe in this cruel world.  No one's judging freddie for the things he's done, but some things you can't ignore.....not having endless sex with lots of men with the occassion women.The only thing I think freddie blew it was when he knew his friends were dying off from aids...someone asked fred "does this mean no more partying?....Freddie told the interviewer that he's still fucking anything that moves. He's partying heavier than ever.  also, he was so silent in his last years and could have done the world a big favor by comming out and admitting that he got the desiese, like magic johson did or even the boxer tommy morrission.  I'm not Judging the man, but maybe I would have done some of these things Differently than fred.  Maybe I stop having sex with people or a t least put a condom on...that's a start......i would have come out sooner too.  Freddie should have showed the younger fans all around the world at this time what this aids thing is and how it  effects the human body and to educate the young people.       So, we know freddie wasn't mother theresa,   but what he was was a man with big time courage,  never giving up, while many have in the past.   Above I wrote something about what I would have done in that situation.....Mike hunt would have educated the children.....mikehunt would have told his story to the world to help people.  like magic Johson did.........Well,  I'll be honest.  Mike hunt and many other poster on this threat are full of shit!.....Mike hunt would have been shitting in his pants knowing the pain I Just caused my family, friends, along with this hell you're gonna be going through while this aids  takes over you're body.   Many people would commit suicide in this situation, including me,   but freddie kept fighting and working, creating some great music in his last years. It's called courage, not everyone has it my friends.  Freddie has a long list of things he was..but after the obvious things like talented entertainer, singer/songwriter, diva, prima donna, flamboyant,  showboat,  big ego, big teeth,  then you get the essence of freddie Mercury "courage"  The man had courage!

I admire Freddie more for being true to himself, he did what he wanted to do and nobody could stop him and i think he was very brave in his last few years working so hard and it was upto him to keep the news to himself about aids and nobody can judge him for that, he was the one living with the disease after all

Most of all he was a fabulous musician and a brilliant entertainer
