Indeed it is. It's one of the rarest Queen bootleg LPs ever produced - there are only about 20 (remaining) in existence.
The fact that it has gone well past 1,000 Euros doesn't surprise me at all. It may even hit 2,000.

The Zoom Queen is the rarest boot indeed. But at this time there are 3 versions for sale at the moment! the last 1 was sold for 600,- dollar. the highest price ever was 1800 dollar in 2008.
As Bob indicated there are not 20 copies left but about 50 are availble not 20!. In 1977 200 copies were pressed. But about (estimated) 150 were seized by the police and destroyed.
one german profit maker is famous for couterfitting famous bootlegs (hey J. G.!?) so he makes copies of the bootlegs to make ots of profits! Be aware when you buy a zoom.
One hint for this advert on the dutch site : a mint zoom : be awere.
And on the internet 3 versions of the zoom are for sale today ? And about 10 swapped owner in the last 2 years ? And 50 copies left? Come on ? Which one would be the fakes ? Maybe this clears out the inferior source wardour released from a "zoom lp" because it was a copy of the original with inferior sound.
The last zoom on ebay was absolute mint as well the sleeve as the vinyl and when you play the record it has inferior sound quality to the rest of the zoom lp's ? How big is the chanche you'll able to buy a 1977 bootleg in mint condition. A stock copy ? Impossible a chaep remake that's what it is.
The German person mentioned before is famous for his remakes of boot lp's including etching the matrix numbers.
Don;t be silly and be carefull before spending your money on such a vinyl. At least i'm warning you before spending a lot of money for a copy.

How to define a fake one? What if the etched matrixnumber is the real one? I mailed the seller and after asking him about the state of the bootleg it was not mint. More good. The cover shows some worn places and i also asked him why he used the picture of the bootleg selled earlier on the net.
He reply's that his bootleg was in a store and haven't found the time to make a picture. He explained he bought is copy from a Japanese seller (about 20 years ago) and now want to sell the bootleg because he quit with Queen. Besides this bootleg he also has Live in Japan, Kimono My Place Live, etc, etc (all Japanese boots) for sale. A few of them he bought from a relative of Andreas Voigts (also a German person), so i think this seller sounds oke to me. But ................................................

I never understood why people pay ridiculous amounts for a bootleg LP that's widely circulated - i.e., a mass distributed cd that's pressed directly from the LP.
A gazillion people have the same concert that someone pays 1,000 Euros for.

I understand what you are saying, but i'm those of this stupids who love those records. I've got them all on vinyl exept this one. I only collect the vinyl boots. Just like you said before, there are a thousand examples on cd, but that's not what i'm looking for.
The smell, the sounds of vinyl (although some boots sounds misserable ":-)) is just great!
However, i could be one of those idiots that will buy this record, just to complete my collection. After that, there will be nothing of my interest to collect. :-)

Believe me, I'm a huge vinyl lover, and prefer it to cd without question!
But when you're in the world of bootlegs, I just think that kind of money could be used on something that's at least official - perhaps a rare colored vinyl LP or something like that.
The only rare bootleg LP I have is the original Night At The Warehouse 2LP, and if someone were to offer me the right trade, I would part with it.

you probably miss the meaning of collecting... nothing wrong by the way... but it's the same with right proportions if you think that you can buy a print of Mona Lisa at 3 euro than owning the original painting... in simple words... is like owning a piece of history of you favourite band, artist etc...

No Ferdy, I'm not missing the meaning of collecting, as I have acquired plenty of Queen pieces through the years.
I understand tracking down the 1973 purple Elektra promo deck of cards very easily, because that's something which is official (legitimate).
You or I can press an ultra-limited edition unofficial LP of whatever concert we want - on whatever color vinyl we want. But I don't see the appeal in paying 500 Euros for this.

There is a special appeal in what I call original bootleg especially the ones from 70's and 80's. I personally don't buy any live recordings on vinyl issued after 1991 where there was only a speculation on the band. In those old years these vinyls were the only way you can hear your fav band live in rare recordings apart from cassette trading. Some of those Bootleg lp's were reallly illegal and very hard to find even in the 80's. This is why for some collectors the appeal of these LP's remains intact. You also may consider that probably for some gigs they are the firt generation quality recordings. I personally have been offered the Zoom Queen from big bootleg collectors who arrived to ask me a lot of money cause it's considered one of the top rare music bootleg around.

this is quite strange cause a better copy didn't match a lower reserve for two or three times on ebay last year.... Is this marketplace well used among collectors??
