I like Paul Rodgers on that vocal much better. Of course, I've really always really liked Paul Rodgers anyway, so that might not be fair. But you know, I at first thought Kerry was a deeply talented singer whose style I just didn't happen to like, but the more I hear the more I think she might be kind of ordinary in the grand scheme of things.
i think hear it is obvious that brian is not working with her for her vocal talents but for some other reasons ...... we all know him to be a backdoor man and now it is only confirmed - it can't be another reason that he is working with this she is very pretty but obviously not that good

Agreed, but still, it's a pretty good effort just to sing along with one person on guitar and sound that good. Fred often oversang or undersang Love of My Life, and look how much practice he had at that! But I agree: in the grand scheme of things, she's pretty good but nothong really special as a singer.

Personally, I think she's kind of chunky. I'd give her a 5 or 6 out of 10. :)

How in the world did Freddie "oversing" LOML? And "undersing?" Never heard of that term! LOL

For oversing, see 'One Year of Love', a nice song spoiled by Fred's oversinging i.e. too dramatic, emphasis in wrong places. Maybe you've never heard the term undersung before, and that's probably because I made it up. Still, the meaning is clear: Fred changed the emphasis/drama on live songs for a number of reasons. Sometimes where a song called for drama, he didn't (or couldn't) do it live every night. Live, Fred was all over the place, sometimes great, sometimes distinctly mediocre (e.g. every version of IWTBF).

I know exactly what Holly means about LOML. It wasn't always perfect live - sometimes oversung and sometimes undersung, and sometimes within the same 3 minutes.
Beyond that I think it's got a slightly (don't freak out - I said slightly) higher place in the Queen mythology than it actually warrants. It is a simple and beautiful and important song, and I like it very much, but I think it's been somewhat deified by Freddie's death, it's history as an audience sing along, the Mary narrative etc. I actually think Save Me, which is thematically similar, is the better lost love song. It's dramatic and full of angst and hyperbole and is pretty much the perfect encapsulation of that particular human experience.
