The film will be the reboot of the franchise that includes the original film, its sequels and television spin-offs.

On March 2010, producer Neal H. Moritz stated in an interview that "We’re staying true to the mythologies as a whole of the Highlander series. Now there are certain things between all the different Highlanders that conflict with each other, but we’re trying to stay true to the core of what we believe Highlander is and it’s a movie that’s going to be made for the fans of Highlander but also for people who are new to the franchise."

He also expressed interest in incorporating the music of Queen in the new film, just as the original did.

The new movie will be directed by the Fast & Furious director, Justin Lin.
It will be produced by Neal H. Moritz. He is the producer of  the new versions of Cliffhanger, Flash Gordon, 21 Jump Street, Total Recall, xXx: The Return of Xander Cage and also Prison Break, I Am Legend.

Highlander: The Reckoning will premiere in 2012.

More like the Wreckoning ...  Jesus, there should be a sort of Cinematic Mossad that goes out on night raids and stops movies like this from being made.

Highlander, Ghostbusters, Gremlins, Labyrinth amongst many are not to be tampered with. I can only guess, but I´m pretty sure it´ll suck.
It´s better to burn out than to fade away.
