I'd go ahead and leave the compass, cell phone, and GPS Tracking System at home.  Just take a couple of granola bars.

And if you happen to bump into a Mountie, you've accidentally wandered into Canada.  If this happens, and this is very important, eat both your Granola bars immediately and keep walking due North until you find a computer to let us know how you're doing.  If it's blue screened or something, Hillary Clinton will have left a big red reset button beside it.  You may be able to see Sarah Palin's house from there, but don't let that throw you.  Also note that polar bears are extremely friendly and will give you more granola bars in exchange for a nice scratch behind the ears.
