Rock Montreal overdubs and other observations

I have argued for a long time that I believe NIH, Jailhouse Rock, Bo Rap(rock section), TYMD(parts), and parts of AOBTD have been overdubbed by Freddie. Now that Gregsynth had kindly uploaded the audience bootleg on his channel we can all have a listen.

Now I may well be wrong here but apart from Freddies ad libs I think JR has been completely re done

Notice the difference? And where is that Piano coming from on the audience recording?

Also a number of songs have been left off the boot because thay feature on the official release. However the versions of IILWMC, GDML and JR are clearly the versions which are on the official release.

I can't remember whether it's present on all versions, but on one of the original DVD versions there are 2 vocals tracks playing at the same time at one point when Freddie is ad-libbing. Whether that is down to them flying in vocals from the other night to mix and match or Freddie overdubbed new vocals (and they didn't edit the sections correctly|) I don't know.

On the original VHS you could clearly hear two Freddies singing on TYMD. Not sure if this was studio vocals added or the first nights vocals playing over the top of the second (or vice versa).

Without an audience recording from the second night, we can't make every possible conclusion, nor can we know exactly what was overdubbed in the studio, if anything.  Great work so far, Bad Seed.

Any thoughts on the Piano? Strange how they've completely erased it from the official release.

Strangely enough, that's actually guitar.  The quality of audience recordings sometimes does wonky things, and on this one it almost sounds like a piano.  But I'm quite sure it's guitar.
