It's very nice of you to upload  this Kurgan 100 and I don't mean to be a party-pooper, but it's not a rarity (or a rarity as I understand it) . It's been on youtube for quite some time.

The footage itself isn't rare, but to have it in this quality is a first for most of us.

Just for you, Whollsocks. SJ is Sally James, the shows presenter

SJ - And I’d like to welcome to Saturday Scene, Roger Taylor

RT – Hello Sally, it’s nice to be here
SJ – How are you?
RT – Very well thanks
SJ – It’s a long long time since you were last on Saturday Scene, I think in fact it was just before the American tour before last.
RT – Yes something like that. Quite a while it is. Before Bo Rhap anyway
SJ – But you’ve had 2 very successful American tours since then and you came back from the last one at the beginning of this year, what’s been happening for Queen since then?
RT – Since the beginning of the year? Well basically we’ve done an album which took a long time to record and we took some time off in the middle of that to do a few concerts – 2 in Edinburgh, 1 in Cardiff and 1 in London, Hyde Park which was the big free one.
SJ – Yes that was obviously very successful, we’ve read a lot about that. Now the album, we’ve got a copy of that here “A Day At The Races”. Now you say that took a long time to record, How long did it take to record.
RT – Well, including the three weeks we took off to do the concerts in the middle, about 5 months something like that.
SJ – Why does it take so long, is it because you are such perfectionists?
RT – I don’t know, perhaps we’re slow. It’s hard to say really, we just like to get things right. Its just the amount of time it takes until it sounds right, until it feels right.
SJ – You’ve written one track on the album, in fact you’ve written one track on every album, this one....
RT – Yeah the annual track...
SJ – Your annual writing thing.... this one is called “Drowse” and is a lot different to the rockers we’ve heard from you before, what’s the reason for that?
RT – I suppose so, I think I seem to have a bit of a rock and roll tag. I have my quiet moments as well and this is one of slightly more relaxed thing than usual. Its rather American it turned out. You never know until you’ve finished. You know, you can’t sit back and judge it at all until you’ve actually finished.
SJ – Now the title A Day At The Races and the album also before ANATO are both Marx Brothers titles of their films aren’t they
RT – They are yeah.
SJ – Was that deliberate?
RT – Well it started out we got the first title after watching a video of ANATO while we were recording the album and it seemed to fit in so well with some of the things we were doing on the album, for instance the operatic bits in Bo Rhap and things like that. It went well and when we were trying to think of a title for this one, ADATR was the film after ANATO so that’s what we went with.
SJ – I see. Is this going to be a trend, do you think, to always adopt a.....
RT – Oh no no its just the way it turned out. It seemed to fit well.
SJ – Roger it’s been lovely to talk to you, We can hear in the background “Somebody To Love”, so lets not only hear it lets have a look at it as well.

clip ends.
