As an example of the "insufferable ass" and "bully" that I am, the following posts were by me in August, both of which either went unread by Grateful Fan or were patently ignored.

Obviously we aren't clear if the other person's argument comes across as specious. I think we're both guilty of appearing so, despite our best efforts and genuine sincerity. It comes from fundamentally different perspectives.Speaking broadly to the forums at large, it also doesn't help anyone when less-then-constructive comments are issued by any individual in a thread. That's the point where things get adversarial. I'm man enough to admit I've been guilty of it from time to time (issuing nonconstructive criticism) while at the same time taking others to task for it. We all lose out on worthwhile discussions when the comments shift the topic to the quality of the posts.
I could go on, but I think you get what I'm saying.
Anyway, GF, I apologize for any hard feelings.

I'm not perfect (far from it), but insufferable tendencies aside, I offer my thoughts and feelings to this forum with no malice toward the posters. With all the negative posts and threads, it's ironic that my attempts to demonstrate a contrary, "refreshingly optimistic" (as a better poster once said of me) point of view leads to more discord.

I'm not going to stop saying what I think here.

And I do think petty griping and more collaboration will get us further.

Once again, Grateful Fan, I offer an end to hostilities.

Let me begin by saying that if I were to come to believe that I was in fact making you feel uncomfortable, or bad, or intimidated in any way here on QZ I'd kind of die.  I'd be very embarrassed about that, and feel very guilty, and quite badly in general.

That said, my experience of you is so profoundly negative that while it might seem that I'm always gratuitously at you, my comments are in fact mini dam bursts in what actually is a pretty significant effort not to say anything at all if I can't say anything nice.  If you don't like what I've said, you should hear what I haven't said.  I do try to make an effort to lighten things back up, in my way.  It may not seem so, I understand. You have a lot of knowledge which is great for the forum.  There, I've said something nice. 

So nobody should feel intimidated here.  If I'm affecting your sense of freedom to post whenever and whatever you want, then I will make a greater effort.  If I'm just annoying the shit out of you, well then we're even.  You can deal with it just like I have to.

P.S.  Posting this thread was lame, and posting PMs is lamer even than that.
