Jam Monkey - REALLY appreciate everything you're sharing here - THANK YOU muchly! So great to hear stuff I would never normally get chance to - I'm such an avid fan but a poor collector of rarities, so to have them posted here is really appreciated by peeps like me. Thanks

Thanks for the Tenement Funster instrumental btw! I browsed through your medifire list and noticed demos from: Machines The Miracle The Invisible Man Scandal I Want It All Headlong
After downloading and listening, my conclusion is that those demos are fake. Any other opinions?

The Face It Alone sample is not a convention recording, but where it came from I don't know. Yes, I do have it lossless.
As for the demos, I might accept that Machine is fake, but the other demos have circulated for many years now. I think they first emerged on Demories Please Majesties over 10 years ago. I think has they been fake it would have been spotted by now.

Also, I noticed you share some demo / takes in FLAC that previously only were available as mp3 sourced files. I compared my mp3 sourced files with your FLAC files and noticed the following:
At first sight your files seem 100% from cdda (traders little helper) BUT after anaylising the wav. file with a spectrum anaylizer (EAC) it shows the EXACT same pattern as the mp3 sourced file. They all look like the mp3 sourced files.
So basically this is what happened with your 'lossless' files : unknown source > mp3 > wav + "remastering" > flac > your share
These are the files I'm talking about:
A new life is born Hot Space demos Feel Like Hang on in there I guess we're falling out My baby loves me My secret fantasy Robbery Self made man Stealin'
Rain must fall is an edit. A more complete version from this exists (one minute longer) Khashoggi's Ship is complete and from the same source. Both do exist lossless.
Don't get me wrong. I think it's nice that you share over here! But please make sure you check your files (mp3 analyze) before sharing lossy mp3 sourced files as a FLAC file...

@People on streets:
I believe those tracks come from a bootleg CD, which unfortunately is lossy sourced. Re-encoding the files from the CD to a lossy format again would further increase the quality loss.

@ GinjaNinja
I think you are correct. However, I think it's best for all collectors to know wether a file has a lossy or lossless source. Including this type of info in a share would be a good thing to do in my opinion.

Also, the Machines demo is not fake. It is sourced from the Queen '84 documentary which shows Mack in the studio demonstrating the "Demolition Fairlight Programming"
The original share is here, though the link is down.
I was aware those tracks were from a Lossy source, but I decided to share them anyway because there were of a higher quality then I had heard before.
They came from a CD bootleg I bought called 'Spaced Out'. The reason I didn't convert back to CD was because there would be a further loss is quality, and GN said.
I am sure these demos exsist in lossless form somewhere, but it seems most people keep those versions for thier private collections.
