This album is definatley in the top 5 for every Queen fan. Their best album in my opinion and up their with the greatest ever (if not the greatest). So many great tracks, an intruging concept, amazing vocals and every member working at their best, this album is so perfect and polished.
Procession - Amazing opener to an album, and really feels royal. Rating - Probably the best way to start off this album (10/10 with how effective it it).
Father to Son - Very, Very underrated song. Musically, it would have to be up their in the top 5 Queen songs ever writen. The song also has catchy rythm and could have been released as a single. But the production, work ethic is supreme. A Joyful sound with energetic rock n roll, the middle section is full of unbelievable drama. The Guitar work, level of noise and crashing cymbals really make this epic.

White Queen - Fantastic link between the previous song and this one, the White Queen is magical, dark and powerful and in my opinion beats Bohemian Rhapsody in emotional drama. Musically fantastic, the guitar work is totally unique and at the begining sounds like violins and towards the end sounds like royal trumpets.

Someday One Day - Soft, easy listening, relaxing, great sound, fantastic musically, this is a great and underated track. Soft guitar work and delicate drums makes this perfect.

The Loser in the End - Brilliant drums, powerful ryhthm, good sound, i can't see why so many Queen fans dislike this song. It does'nt quite fit in with the concept but it does act like a bridge between Side White and Black. I really like it.

Ogre Battle- Rock and roll drama at it's absolute best. Can't catch your breath with fast guitaring explosive drums and bass and vocals out of this world.

The Fairy Feller's Masterstroke - Brilliance. Medival like harpsichord with strange guitar sounds, ever changing tempo and style and hard not to love vocals from Freddie and the band. Flawless.

Nevermore - Heartbreaking ballad sung from the heart of the late Freddie Mercury, this delicate track shows Queen's supreme superiority at the top of the throne of great rock n' roll acts.This track [and album] shows their unique versitility.

The March of the Black Queen - The Greatest Queen song ever in my opinion and words can't describe the utter majesty of this track. Up their with two of the greatest progressive rock songs ever (up their Rush's 11 minute epic "Xanadu").

Funny How Love Is - Hard not to love, great feel and perfect way to follow The fantastical drama of The March of the Black Queen.
Rating - In my opinion (10/10)
Seven Seas of Rhye - Great, Great song and one of the Absolute Greatest, Greatest Queen Hits. Classic track and perhaps underrated and should have been a bigger hit. Fantastic feel and great way to end a stunning album the crown jewel of Queen's crown and blinding career.

My favourite Queen album and only contains one 'hit'. If the album hadn't been all linked together then I think more of the treacks may have become singles but then that's part of the beauty of the album in the way the soings seague into one another. Has that Tolkinesque feel to it and could imagine it as part the soundtrack to some animated Lord of the Rings or Dungeons and Dragons type movie.

What can I add about this album that hasn't been said since 1974? Not much, so I'll keep it short.
I'm glad Queen didn't go with the title Over The Top. (Can you imagine...?)
I like "Loser In The End," but it's the only song that takes me out of that fantasy world woven by the other tracks.
I like the black and white motifs used throughout.
I'd love to see this album staged somehow, either as a "musical" or a dance production. Those of you gasping at the idea of Queen in ballet or modern dance form and still being able to retain its coolness, I refer you to this:
It's a ballet production of Dracula. I've not seen this show, but I have the score and it's awesome.
Anyway, Queen II is a great album, one of their best, and the more I listen to it, the more I find to love in it. This is an album that really needs to be remixed into 5.1 DTS surround sound!

Favourite Queen album for me (I'm liking Innuendo very much these days as well, though)
Procession Great opener. I always loved this even when Queen used this as the opening number in their concerts.
Father to Son One of my fav Queen songs. Great vocals, love the drums, the guitar solo and all. I think this song is an inspiration for a lot of other songs (e.g. Thor by Manowar - the drums)
White Queen (As It Began) Nice song, but I prefer some live renditions over the studio version.
Some Day One Day Pretty nice, this too.
The Loser in the End Again, pretty good.

I rate Basmati rice at 98%, Long-Grain rice at 70% and Brown rice at 20%.

Without a shadow of a doubt the greatest album in the Queen catalogue, therefore the greatest album of all time! I've already declared my love for March Of The Black Queen on a thread I started a while back - for me, it's Queen's masterpiece, definitely better than Bohemian Rhapsody. Agreed that FHLI is the low point of the album, but way better than some of the junk out now.

It's crazy how "Funny How Love Is" is so disliked by some fans. I totally respect that, but of the many songs Queen recorded, why does THAT track polarize us nearly as much as "Body Language"? I understand why "Body Language" is so hated: it's style, what it represents in Freddie's songwriting at the time...all very obvious reasons for not liking it. But "Funny How Love Is"? It's an album track; a little experiment in Wall-Of-Sound. Of all the little experiments (Ragtime = Bring Back That Leroy Brown, Rockabilly = Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Big Band = Good Company...) "Funny How Love Is" gets the hardest hit, especially for a track that wasn't even a single.
It blows my mind.

I don't find "Funny How Love Is" to be a very bad song, its just that it comes after "The March of the Black Queen" which sets the bar pretty high and Funny How Love Is fails to live upto that.
