Hi ,
here is a upgrade for the Rotterdam april 19 1978 show. It is incompleet. Maybe some expert like sir GH or Pittrek could make a merge out of these sources and upload them again in mega upload.
Here are 2 samples : 1 the old version which was shared here some time ago by WE WILL ROCK YOU SLOW http://www.megaupload.com/?d=95LYL2EB 2 here is my version of the WWRY slow the version which you can download using the torrent below. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5JYCSH3L
Unknown lineage!
tracks :
1 we will rock you (fast) 2 somebody to love 3 death on 2 legs- killer queen - good old fashioned loverboy 4 the millionaire waltz 5 you're y best friend 6 spread your wings 7 it's late 8 my melanchly blues 9 white man 10 the prohets song 11 we will rock you (slow) 12 we are the champions ------------ Bonus tracks 13 my melancholy blues (london 1978-05-11) 14 crazy little thing called love (kassel 1982-05-18) 15 calling all girls (1982-09-07)
File format is WAV.

Thanks, I'll definitely compare it to my version(s) :-)

A few thoughts..
1) You can save half the bandwith by converting your WAV files to FLAC. No quality is lost. :-) 2) There is digital noise on We Are The Champions, probably because this is an old CDR. 3) My Melancholy Blues is from 5-13-78, not 5-11-78. 4) Four second gaps between tracks.. wow. 5) This is a second (and better-sounding) audience source of the Rotterdam show, so thanks for the share.
Did you add the bonus tracks, or is this the way it came? If it's the latter, then it's odd that 3 bonus tracks were added to 73 minutes which effectively stretches it to two discs.

1 I am really not an computer expert. And are a virgin when it comes to wav to flac conversions 2 Yes that is correct. I checked the noise it is on the disc 3 thanks I just took the info from the sleeve without checking the info 4 sorry it is an old cdr, probably a cdr recorder without the disc at once option. Maybe someone can patch this up 5 no problem I knew it was an upgrade hence the share
I did add the bonus tracks, just to be curious if there is need to share one of those shows. But only if they add something to queen world like better sound. Otherwise I won't share them , and so I won;t contaminate the Queen download world with inferior sources.Could you compare those bonus tracks Bob ? And tell me if there is a need to share them ?

From QUEENLIVE.CA :
"This CDR from the 90s is an upgrade of the second audience source. It's the best-sounding recording of Queen's five shows in Holland in the 70s.
There is little doubt that more exists in this quality, as the cuts between songs are digital, not analog. In fact, We Are The Champions has a clean edit removing the first chorus and second verse (CDRs back in the mid-90s had a capacity of only 74 minutes). This last song has some digital noise.
The recording runs a bit slow. "
I meeting the guy who made this cdr tommorrow, I will ask him if he saved the tapes from which he sourced this cdr.

I have this one too. It's from a bootleg cd called: it's late but not too late".
The scans of the color photo from the concert, wich I submitted to Queenlive.ca, come from this cd. I recieved this cd in a trade in the late nineties from Hans Holewijn from the IQSO (international queen swap offfice)
I think i traded this with you too Bob. You should check your collection, because I think I did send you a copy few years back.

Download a freeware program called FLAC Frontend. Just drag the WAV files into the window, make sure level 8 is selected, and click "encode." Three mouse clicks and the files are half the size - it's that easy! You can go back and forth from WAV to FLAC as many times as you want, and quality is never lost.
Here's the download link - http://flac.sourceforge.net/download.html

I've already deleted the gaps and corrected the speed, so I'll share it (or a merge of sources) if need be.

The Oakland 82 track is an upgrade. The EQ is better, and there is less tape hiss. If you could share the whole recording in this quality, that would be significant.

Now that's fantastic! This could be promising..
Thanks for all the help.

Interesting, thanks for the info. In fact, this exact CD is on the way to me. As of a few weeks ago, this is the first time I've heard of this CDR.

I'm quite sure you never sent it to me. :-) You mentioned the CD when you sent me the pictures, but I had no idea that it was a significant upgrade in sound quality. So let's see if our friend here manages to get a hold of the entire tape.

Hi there, it seems to be a wonderful upgrade, but for hard disk's space reasons, I'm not able to download in .wav format, so could some generous soul transform it to .flac for all the people in the forum?, everybody would be very greateful!, thanks in advance!
