QUEENDAY 23 Oktober 2010 Netherlands

Dear All,

Anybody went to the Queenday last saturday. Seems Greg Brooks was there with some rare footage of Queen. Did someone know what was shown?

he has shown some video outtkes from:
- Somebody to love
- Crazy little thing called love
- Play the game
all in all 25 min

Norbert, Thank you for your quick response. I thought the fanclubprogram said it was 45 minutes. Anyway.... that footage must be new tape (that's what he said anyway) which Greg told about a few months back in another topic.  So by now we know that there is outake/ backstage footage  from:

- Spread your Wings (as seen on Champions of the world'; Freddie with his bottle of gin or rum )
- Save Me ('new' footage used for the Save Me campaign of Brian)
- Play the Game (new footage fanclubday 23-10-2010)
- Crazy Little Thing Called Love ('new' footage fanclubday 23-10-2010)
- Somebody to Love ('new' footage fanclubday  23-10-2010)

I think if we have footage of Spread Your Wings there must be some footage of We Will Rock You as it's the same location (backgarden of Roger)

So that leaves us to the question' Why not included at Greatest Video Hits 1?

The footage shown by Greg was the same as at the UK convention... in March!

I've looked again at the Dutch convention... Magnificant footage :)

1. nothing special: Only existing videos from other perspectives. Items from CLTCL. Nice to see. But boring after 5 min.
2. nice to have? yes of course, but only for die hard collectors
3. would you buy it? hmmm only good as bonus tracks for publications in the future.

but this was interesting: Greg said that Quenproduction has only just begun to digitize old tapes. But the timestamp for the videos on the screen was from 2004......

Norbert So, another clever move by QP. Incorporate the new screenshots into the official videos. No boots can be made.

Hey Norbert, Now that makes sense. The digitize proces has just begun. That clearifies the sometimes crappy quality on the DVD VIDEOHITS 1 and  2. Some videos really look like VHS transfers. NO Masters digitalized there...

You dont think they will be considering releasing these video out-takes on DVD.

I think not.That would be too much to ask.
