Crane is OK, but I still believe that Mullen is the best out there at the moment. He's not quite 100% the voice that Freddie was, but is pretty darn close and getting better every time I see him. Lovely guy, too!

I can't help but feel kind of sad that some of these singers are in tribute bands as opposed to making their own stuff...

It's quite possible that they do. But if you're doing theatre gigs and outdoor festivals making a grand a night for each guy in the band, why even bother? From a business perspective, you're probably not going to do much better than that.
