Brilliant business from the band. They signed to Hollywood Records just before Freddie died and they released the back catalogue with some good, some not so good remixes. Then there were the Japanese card reissues now Universal are releasing the back catalogue yet again. Why? All hardcore fans already have the albums. There must be enough for a Freddie era ep surely. Dog with a Bone, Feelings, News of the World era BBC versions, Hangman, Silver Salmon, See What a Fool I've been for starters. If they want more Freddie vocals I would suggest re recording heavy rock versions of Love Kills, She Blows Hot and Cold.

Your negativity is a real drain on this forum and on anything the band release or do, and I'm sure I'm not the only one to think this. Will you ever be happy with what comes out, or is that your natural personality anyway?

No... f'irst of all I'm not a negative person at all. I'm only done with these remasters and re-re-re release and promises of Greg Brooks with his list of rareties (a.k.a the carrot dangler tread) etc. These topics make me curious, but when reading I feel very quick that it may turn in the same short route of moneymaking  to QP. See the replies of other user on this tread and you know what I mean. C'mon: Classic Queen, Absolute greatest etc. Basically I lost my trust and faith a bit in the management of Queen.

Sure.... we are all glad with releases as the Wembley DVD, Greteast Video Hits 2 DVD. I must admit that

But compared in the various topics about releases between Queen and other great Bands, QP fail . Therefore I hope the new label will give them new paths to explore and regain the credit they deserve.

All the 70's album could use a decent re-master. If Universal replicate the sound produced on Queen Live at Montreal then I think the fans will be in for a treat. If its a repeat of that thin drum sound often found on albums like Jazz and Live Killers forget you might as well forget this project in its infancy if we are going to get the same old dated mono output.
Nice phat Stereo sound please with loud guitars, crisp drums, and groovy bass not least the golden velvet tones of Mr Fredstar himself.  Innuendo could use a decent remix too, tone is nice but instrumentation is so quiet and seems distant.

I think that only Jazz and Innuendo need a proper remaster, I'm satisfied with the sound of the other albums

Well given the fact that it took The Beatles over 25 years to release their Anthology and The Who also about 30 years to release bonus tracks, we can only hope now that finaly there is something new under the sun. I would love to have a Queen 1 with Silver Salmon, Mad the Swine, Hangman, Polar Bear etc and Queen 2 with live recordings. You would think that Greg has had enough time to prepare everything. But we have to wait and to protect myself I just don't hope for anything.

I'm excited at the prospect, but worried about the reality (based on previous form).

however, trying to be 'up' and supportive of GT's early active involvement in pushing this here:

A  major BBC documentary?  Excellent
A major exhibiton in London? Great
Deluxe edition albums with unreleased tracks? Excellent
More to come in 2011?  Bring it on!

I wonder if any heed has been paid to Deep Purple reissuing one of their classic albums recently with the original version (remastered), plus an additional remix of the whole album by one of the best rock producers/mixers (Kevin Shirley)?  Whilst the mix on most albums is actually as perfect as you can get, the first two albums at least deserve a remix (NOT remaster) to give them proper drum sounds and bring out anything buried in the original versions.

He's just sick of being shafted, as everyone else should be... but people will lap up the same stuff again and again which is why they release the same stuff again and again. Clever business at the end of the day I suppose.

I'm dreaming of surround sound mixes on the 2nd disc.
I hope they don't put "live  versions of the tracks on as that would be dull and "cheap".

I'm hoping that they will release the christmas concert from 75 as a bonus part of a night at the opera. This might explain why they have not released it yet. Sort of like Springsteen did with the darkness album just now. But this is of course just wishful thinking. It would be great though, if they did something like this to their re-release of the albums.

O.k.    Wow.    First off they have SIXTEEN  studio l.p.s    Secondly Greaserkat just because someone says something does not make it so.    Neither The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson or whoever can or do back-up or explain their music sales.

Be careful what you ask for. Remasters are basically making the music louder. it sounds impressive at first, but ear fatigue happens qwuick. Remasters are the biggest rip off. i learned the hard way. Only a few remasters are actually any good. Google and you tube "loudness war" and you will see what i mean. Just turn up the old CD's to hear funny things like bass.
