How can the coaches (or the entire school district) be so dumb?  Wouldn't the coaches that ridiculed him be in the risk of harrassment?  Also, it's not a very good system if you play sports (or PE) for credits.

This is the state where politicians can still be taken seriously for wanting to revoke the ban on school segregation laid down in Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka, Kansas. So no, it doesn't surprise me.
