Dear A Word In Your Ear,
please don't feel offended anymore. I'm sure the people of Queenzone know what they have with you as a member of this communtiy. You made this month with sharing 3 new recordings (at least for me) and there'll we be nothing more then enough satisfaction in many collerctor's houses.
I think the problem is, that most of the people here have no idea what they can offer for trade, because of their unique collection (mine included).
Perhaps you'll get a new recording for your collection ( I hope so) and that'll bring you up a little bit more to the top of the mountain.
I hope (and I'm quiet sure) you had a great evening while listening to these pearls from the past. Enjoy your memories and take care so far
Thanks W.
@ SirGH: Yes, you should listen to the catalogue of Keane. They are amazing I think.

3% share, 87% Leach & the further 10% just moan!!!! lol!!!!
No to be honest, I'm up for everybody sharing everything!!! But back on earth in the real world, that just does not happen. So as a Queen collector who has most of everything that is out there, the only way to further my collection is to trade!!! The 3 Q+PR recordings of mine that I just made available if you notice were put up here on Queenzone exactly on the 2 years aniversary of the concerts themselves, now I could have shared them 2 years ago, But!!!! I would not have been able to expand my collection if I did without trading, so you get my point.
Now, yes the Albert Hall event is going to be broadcast on sky later & it may or may not be edited, but my recording is still valuble as a trading tool to all the die hard Queen fans.
The other thing is, it's not just the 15 minute Queen set, but the complete concert, including the standing ovation for Prince charles, followed by Dame Edna Everage,at the begining of the night, right up until Brian May, Gives 3 cheers for Prince Charles at the end, "hip hip horay" ect. The recording is on 2 Discs & is Lossless.
I must point out, that I did not put up the snippets on here as a way of rubbing people's (& newbies included) noes in it, just that most people visit the announce forum & miss out the other forums.
no hard feelings to people who don't have anything to offer & I know it could be quite frustrating knowing recordings are out there & have no means to get at them, but please don't bad mouth me, just for me wanting to expand my collection.

I'de rather saw TOM on tour with Queen than Paul Rodgers. What a voice!! This is someone in my honest opinion who really ads something magic to the Queen songs. He's isn't affraid to uses his falsetto voice. This was also a big thing of Freddie. Can't blame Paul really for this. But to the more older songs of Queen you needs a singer who can do that aswell. Therefore Paul isn't the man. Much more rawer and steady singer.
Well ... Queen+ Tom Chaplin 2011 tour?

To Queenman: I loved Tom Chaplin's performance. Really. But I hate your tour idea haha. For me the tour with Paul was wonderful because his interpretations of the songs were completely different than Freddie's and he has very different voice (which I also love) That's why it worked for me. I could go on about it but it's a different topic. Brian and Roger said many times they wouldn't go on tour with anybody who would try to copy Freddie. And as much as I loved Tom Chaplin performance on Rock Gala he really did copied Freddie in my opinion. I mean he was trying to sing the song like Freddie did it. And I'm glad he did because he really souned great and he has great voice. But still nothing comparing to Freddie's voice:) For one performance during charity concert it works for me. But imagine if they went on tour with him and he would sing every song like Freddie. For me it would be a disaster. Besides they are legends and great musicans and he's just a young boy with a very good voice. With Paul they had something to offer. He is legend in the music business and he has many great songs which they could perform and it worked great. And they could record new album with him etc. But even with Paul they still didn't include him under the name Queen. It was always + which indicated the difference. And now imagine old Brian and Roger (they aren't that old I know:) )with young boy running around the stage and being a poor copy of Freddie. And the name of the band...Queen + Tom Chaplin....I hope I will never see something like this.
Anyway back to the topic. The performance was great. Now I'm curious about Seven Seas of Rhye...

Hey Justys,
That Queen+TomChaplin 2011 tour was really Tongue-in-Cheek. I'm not saying Tom should sang /sung everything the same as Freddie. Maybe he was ask by Brian and Roger to sing like that way beause Tom stated he put the same things in his work with Keane (falsetto singing and a very big range) Therefore he was the man to nail this song. Remember most of the songs sung by Freddie were written and composed to the man's voice. To my opinion there are trademarks in a Queensong that made a song big. For me Paul wasn't the right man to deliver magic to a Queensong. He is just a goog singer with a bluesy voice and thefore we got to see Queen + Paul Rodgers perform a setlist with less seventies numbers.
So...
Tom don't has to run around in a leotard, making overdone gestures etc. and sing the songs like Freddie did. I'm saying Tom has the benifit of a good Falsetto voice and large range which suit Queensongs very very well and do them justice and they don't have to be sung a whole key lower as Paul used to do. For example Jeff Scott Soto gives Queensongs also a special load without imitating Freddie.

"If you want to see a better quality copy, Sky will be broadcasting the entire concert in 3D on December 19th, 2010."
I hope somebody records it :)

To Queenman: I can see you point:) I know that with Paul they couldn't do many early songs. And that the setlist was sometimes boring and I think they could make more changes because there are many other songs that Paul could sing very well I thiink. But I loved that collaboration. Even if Tom doesn't run and try to copy Freddie..still he has similar voice (in a way). And he can't do much about it even if he tries interpretate it differently. So we get a great performance and as close to the original as it can be...but that's all. Nothing new. And I rather stay at home and listen to the record than go to the concert. But he did them justice I agree. With Paul songs like for example We will rock you, Tie your mother down or I want it all sounded great and fresh for me. And l loved the bluesy Show must go on. He can't sing like Freddie. But he can take song to a different level and make it sound also wonderful to my opinion. Not all the songs but most of them. For me that was the magic about the collaboration. They created something new and made old songs sound like new ones in a sense. And that's why the touring with Paul makes sense to me( not to mention completely new songs they created).
But in the end it's all about person's taste in music and everybody likes something else so...the best for you is what makes you feel good. Nice to talk with you:)

So were all the songs performed in their entirety? Thats great in regards to SSOR. I must ask, how does LH make it into that set? I never saw (or heard) the need to give it such a priority in their set lists. Regardless, it is a very good set list. Did Brian dye his hair back to brown or did he go with his natural grey?
