Now I'm Here - Concerts For The People Of Kampuchea VINYL Rip

Lately I saw the Queen Online "Absolute Greatest Hits Live Bonus Track" version of Now I'm here - Hammersmith Odeon 26-12-1979 and must say I was very disappointed about the mix they made. They completely ripped out the audience participating part in the middle of the song. Instead they did add some echo's on Freddie's voice which made it sound a little bit like the a cappela part of The Prophet's Song. 

At least this did remind me that a long way back I bought "The Concerts For The People Of Kampuchea" dubble LP (yes that good old vinyl one), aldough it's sounds a bit rough at least the mix is much closer to the original performance than the Queen Online one (hopefully this would not be the standard for some future releases...:-( if they ever will come???)

So here it is "Now I´m Here" as it was meant to be!! from the original by "Atlantic Records" released dubble LP.

I know this concerns an original released track , but as far as I know only on vinyl and NOT (officialy) on CD, and isn't available anymore in any shop, otherwise than "used".

But I don't think the audio on the video was doctored at all - it's just the way the video feed sounded.  It's this same mix on bootleg copies.

Yep! I think your right! I have checked my DVD and indeed no audience... but the strange thing to me is that you can't hear the echo with Freddie's voice on the vinyl version?? Different sources... different mixes??? It's also strange that they offered this version, because with the audience it sounds more than The Live Killers album, which was released just a few months before... in my opion with the audience it gives much more credits to the "Freddie live performance", maybe at that point they didn't realize this... of course only Freddie did...

Yes I've got the vinyl double too. Great Who set on side 1.

As of the Hammersmith concert, there are only 3 audio versions, a version that is German broadcaster ZTV mono quality, but with audience noise, one that is of cameras that recorded the concert, which is mono quality, and finally one that comes from the archives of Paul McCartney, who seems to be stereo, but it appears that a hearing is not an integer.

This could be the biggest problem in relation to the release, and that not having the master tracks, QPR would be obliged to ask Paul to look in their vaults, and it seems that the latter does not want to access. (Understanding the purpose of the concert)

Some time ago that I read on the internet.

Anyway, if released in this way, the quality would be only as shown in the Japanese channel in 2008, unfortunately unable to fix errors that occur microphone during the concert, maybe that's the reason the band is reluctant to release this concert. (For many problems)

Or in other words ... this happens when the only person with moderator permissions leaves for vacation and is without internet access :-)
