Yeah, that Boston performance has been my favorite for a while, thanks for exposing me to the Birmingham one though! For stuff like Lap of the Gods Revisited, the only versions I've really liked live were the Rainbow in '74, and some of his fun variations on it during the Magic Tour.
Here's a set of tougher songs: March of the Black Queen? I have the Boston '76 version of that medley, anyone have a version they prefer over this?
Also, one of the big daddies: Liar! Boston '76 is one of my favorite too, any others you guys love?

That is the best Freddie live vocal EVER! ===========
There's an even better version! Newcastle 1st Night (from The Crazy Tour). I have never heard the song sung like that ever during that show.
My favorite version is that night at Montreal too.

I always love these threads, which are generally followed by myself paying a visit to youtube!
I've been really missing Queen, these days.

For The March Of The Black Queen--the song was performed well on most nights, so it's really tough to decide a "best version." As for ITLOTG...Revisited, the Magic Tour versions are overall Freddie's best versions (he actually sings the song RIGHT). Rainbow 1974 is by far, the best 70s version, though.
For Liar, the best overall version has to go to Newcastle 1979--everybody is firing on all cylinders, the tempo's cranked up, Freddie nails the song, etc!
