The BBC are showing a 90 minute dramatisation of the Band Aid/Live Aid story this Christmas. It doesn't mention Queen but the cast list has actors playing Macca, Bowie and Billy Connolly. I cant imagine they would leave Queen out so it might be worth a watch. It's on BBC2 at 9.15p on Boxing Day and is followed by a documentary on Live Aid, probably the one in which Status Quo admit to being anally raped by Freddie backstage.

Freddie did that? Oh no! Not during the Quo's gig I hope? I seem to remember them singing "I like it, I like it" rather loudly.

Ian Hart is playing Harvey Goldstein, never heard of the guy playing Bob Geldof before. There's a short interview with the real Harvey Goldstein in the Radio Times and he mentions Freddie but still no idea if Queen will be in the programme or not.

Did anyone watch last night? It was a bit slap-dash in places but on the whole it was okay.
Queen's music featured quite heavily and there was a brief glimpse of the back of Freddie and Brian's heads as they left the stage before Paul McCartney went on to perform.
If you missed it you can still catch it on the bbc iplayer.

I did see the end of it - I think there was a bit of artistic license going on as regards the phone call between Fred and Bob Geldof. The phone calls would have happened thru Jim Beach.....

Spike Edney played a big part in getting Queen to play at live aid as according to various sources Bob Geldof went to Queen via Spike as he knew Spike quite well

Overall it was a good programme and they used a lot of queens music (more royalties) which is always good

also they showed Freddie and Brian leaving the stage in the wrong direction to how they actually left
