Since there seems to be some confusion about what is "official".
Anything that was released on any commercial format by EMI, PMI or another company licensed by Queen productions cannot be shared on Queenzone. For example the Freddie Mercury Tribute video was released on a double VHS home video and on DVD. Champions Of The World was released on VHS tape and laser disc and cannot be shared, either. Also other commercially released material cannot be shared - for example Live Aid which was not released by QP but another company or the documentary "Making Of Rock Aid Armenia" which was released on a DVD just a few weeks ago. Until it was released officially it could be shared on QZ...
Please respect these rules. If you are not sure if you can share something, please ask on the forum, the older members of Queenzone will help you. Or email the website.

Nice that you mention it. I wonder how long will it take until a newbie shares something official again.
Anyway, what is the "official policy" about sharing things which were cut out from the official release ? For example when you mentioned the Freddie Mercury Tribute concert, would it be acceptable to share here something which was cut (e.g. Plan't Innuendo) ?

So... What about different versions of official material? For example, audience recordings of officially released concerts, videos with different angles and just original soundboard recordings without studio overdubs? I think all this material can be shared here.

it's really easy: material that has not been released in an official format can be shared. For example an audio recording of the Montreal 81 concert can be shared because it is not the sound that was released on the official DVD. TV material that has never been released can be shared. For example the Ukraine 2008 concert video could be shared until it was released on DVD. You can still share the bits that are NOT on the official DVD if you want to take the trouble to cut them out.
The Robert Plant bit in FM Tribute can also be shared - it was not on any official release. I am sure RP himself would not agree if he saw it because it was his choice not to have it on the videos. Just hoping he is not visiting Queenzone:-) He did not want it on the VHS because he thought it was not good enough. The Led Zep performance that was cut out from Live Aid can still be viewed on YouTube - I would not have wanted this published, either if I were in Led Zep:-)
It can happen that material is shared of which small portions were used for official releases. In this case we do not want to be too strict - QP would not be that strict I believe. In such cases it is also not necessary to start a huge discussion about these smaller bits in the announce thread ;-)

Excellent - and necessary - post. This should be a sticky - old timers like me know all this but newbies might need some guidance on the subject.
It might be an idea to include in the first post a list of concerts/TV shows/etc that cannot be shared (perhaps even including the obvious). This way no one can say they didn't know - mods can delete the post without further ado, and the rest of us will be spared endless threads of "is this or is this not official" debate.

Agreed, this should be a sticky. Thanks for the clarification, YV.

So it took only a few hours till a next official material got shared here :-(
Let us assume it was just a mistake and not intentional:-)

Is the Queen Talks DVD classified as an official release?

It should be. 1) It won't be fair to those people like myself who paid £17 for it (and it STILL hasn't arrived!!!!), for it to be uploaded here for everyone else to leech for free.
2) The fan club is in financial hardship (supposedly), and those potential funds should NOT be taken away from it.

So if it is official, then all previous shares of anything included on the DVD should be removed from Queenzone?

It should probably be mentioned that "fan stuff" is okay, like fan mixes and fan edited videos.

I don't actually mind if the stuff already shared here remains shared - it's already here and it's not harming anyone. I also don't mind if, in a year or so, the entire DVD is shared here, as I think the fan club will have had long enough to sell copies and distribute to those people who have bought them. For the moment though, it's only fair it's kept off here.

I think the DVD should not be shared on QZ for the moment. The material was specificly sent to the FC by Brian and Roger and it the members pay quite a lot for it. It would be unfair for everybody involved if we shared it - to the fan club and to its members who paid in advance and are still waiting to get it.

Hi
I have found more official material http://www.queenzone.com/forums/1246156/rio-de-janeiro-1-12-85-25th-anniversary-edition.aspx It must have been offered by a newbie or a third-class musical guitar player.
