"Why should he admit it was a mistake when clearly he must have thought it wasnt since he played and sang on it? "

Well I don't think Island are going to bother to do a re-issue of it.
Me personally, I couldnt give a flying feck if they re-issued it. I have it to begin with. I also happen think it was a fine album. When I bought it, I wasnt expecting to hear the Queen of old, so I wasnt disappointed

And in any case.I know this is an old argument but why cant they use Queen as a name.Plenty other bands have done that.Take for example Yes.They had two bands out at one time. With the other band having the most original members in it.
No objective person could say TCR is a "great" album. It's distinctly average. ANATO, ADATR, NOTW and Queen 2 are great albums. Sgt Pepper, Back in Black, Rumors, Eliminator, Bridge Over Troubled Waters are great albums. TCR is not a great album. People who like TCR tend to over-compensate in their praise to balance out thiose who hate the album and/or Queen+ concept. I dont hate it, nor do I object to Queen+. But TCR is mostly bland and unoriginal.
