It's not really up to you to 'let' more people die, or not (nobody is actually letting people die). Nonetheless, as demonstrated by Thomas, there are numerous things which kill. Why not ban all of them?

"At the very least, have more restrictions on drinking."

There already are restrictions on drink-driving, as well as restrictions on the age one must be to drink in public.

In Australia, alcohol caused violence is a massive concern, however it's commonly accepted that the biggest problem is cultural rather than legal. Ultimately instead of resorting to legal restrictions and bans, we need to figure out a way to make young people understand that one can have fun without drinking to excess, and violence is never acceptable.

I just think beer should be banned considering there are enough idiots that can't drink responsibly [/QUOTE]

Banning beer doesnt work, as 1920's America showed. All that led to was an upsurge in organised criminal activity. As for restrictions, short of following the idiot minority (and they are a minority) around I dont see how that is going to work either

The same can be said about pretty much anything. Whether it be beer, Christianity, ouija boards or The Carpenters-records, they are not in themselves evil, they are just the medium through which badness can be expressed. A stick to beat a dog, so to say.

Basically, beer doesn't hurt people.  People hurt people

We need to figure out a way to make young people understand that one can have fun without drinking to excess, and violence is never acceptable - except for when it's in the bedroom!
