Well, this set may be considered useless, but apparently it contains the songs that I could personally call my (almost) perfect set of choice from that period. Wonder if it may help bringing up the progressive gems like March Of The Black Queen and Funster/Wrist/Valley medley as well as the hits-still-to-be like ITLOTGR, '39 or Long Away to the wider public...

So that makes it two Greatest Hits albums, a re-release of the Platinum Collection in the summer(?), three compilations of Deep Cuts, and the mystery Forever album for the Christmas market.
Pretty impressive first year.... : /

Quite nice. Good looking artwork, interesting track list. I think this is a big step forward.
I might even buy this if it will be released on vinyl too (wich i doubt)

What utter pointless fucking bollocks. At first, with a name like Deep Cuts, I thought it was stuff from the vaults, then I re-read it and it's another bloody compilation of already available tracks. If people want to "delve into the band’s founding years’ work for the first time" they can just preview any of the Queen albums in iTunes. And then buy any tracks that they like. With CD sales going down the toilet and the UK's last CD chain, HMV, on it's knees, I just don't understand this at all. Anothother CD compilation without anything new!!!!!! Who the fuck is going to buy it?

There should be stand-alone version of The March of the Black Queen. Maybe this is "extended version" that Brian claims to exist?

Great tracklisting. Could have had Liar/ White Queen/ You and I/ Who Needs You, but a great tracklisting nonetheless. There will be folk who have never heard the entire Queen back cat curious about this - I hope it serves the purpose...
Needless to say, I'll probably buy it. I'm a completist, I can't help it.

How exactly is this a "big step forward"?

So.... how come no John Deacon songs on Deep Cuts?
For the sake of balance and to show Queen were made up of four writers, not three, I would have thought "You and I" or "Misfire" would have earned a place instead of say "Long Away" or "Good Company".
But I suppose there's sour grapes. John won't play "Ageing Rock Bands" with Brian.
Deep Cuts? Surely a letter missing.

There are no Roger Taylor's songs on Greatest Hits and I have never seen anyone complaining about it.
I'm so tired of everybody blaiming Brian and Roger for whathever Queen Productions put on the market. They have a new label and they have a contract that must demand new releases. So what if we already have all the songs from this "Deep Cuts"? Just don't buy it. But there is a bunch of people who claims to be Queen fans that doesn't know nothing besides BoRhap/WWRY/WATC/AOBTD.
Sometimes I wonder if you guys really love Queen.

Did anyone else notice that "The March Of The Black Queen" and "Ogre Battle" are going to me stand-alone versions? I wonder if they'll simply fade out the album versions at the end or will go to the master tapes to get the clean recordings of the non-segued originals.
I'm guessing "Tenement Funster," "Flick Out The Wrist" and "Lily Of The Valley" will be the full album versions, cross-fading as they normally do (rather than the isolated, stand-alone versions released as B-sides).
