Luxury Swiss watchmaker Raymond Weil has annoucned its involvement with the 40th annicersary of legendary rock band Queen.

To mark the celebration a special music event is being held, which the brand will both sponsor and create four unique watches which will be gifted to members of the band on the night. The event will take place tonight - February 24 - at The Savoy hotel in London, to mark what would have been Freddie Mercury's 65th birthday.

A special auction will take place, where bids can be placed on Mercury own Raymond Weil watch. Pierre Bernheim, director of Raymond Weil said: "We are delighted to support this very special anniversary for arguably the most successful band of all time. So far it has been a phenomenal year for Raymond Weil within the music industry with our status as official watch to The BRIT Awards."

Bernheim added: "We are especially delighted to be creating a four-piece limited edition watch for Queen and are thrilled that Freddie's' watch will be auctioned off to raise funds for charity at a later date."

The page in question seems to have been deleted. The site's search function still brings up a link, but it's a dead one.
