Sheer Heart Attack release date

It has been long said that Sheer Heart Attack was released in the UK on November 8, 1974, but here's something to consider -

The recording of the Bradford concert on November 6 has a quote from Freddie from before the medley, stating that three of the four songs in the medley are from their new album released "tomorrow."

So this presents three possibilities:

1) Freddie was wrong about the release date
2) the November 6 release date is wrong
3) tthe concert was actually on November 7

Thoughts?

My thoughts?

My thoughts are that we've got another mystery to solve.
I always knew I was a star And now, the rest of the world seems to agree with me-Freddie Mercury

Interesting.

I think either it's a mistake or the wrong concert date, though likely a mistake on Freddie's part. Chances are, in the flurry of concerts and the headaches of dealing with Trident, he forgot the release date or momentarily mixed up his days. Heaven knows I've been busy enough to forget what day it was or to forget an important event.

They sometimes didn't even know which songs were in which albums, that would not be surprising that Freddie was wrong. Otherwise, there is a ticket of the 7th Nov of the Newcastle show so I guess the date can't be wrong. Might be interesting to listen to the (really bad) recording of Glasgow (8th) to know if Freddie says something about the album.

The other six albums of the 1970's were released on a Friday.  November 8, 1974 would be consistent with that pattern.

Yep, you're right.

I decided to try and brave the Glasgow recording for the first time, and here's what we've got:

"Tell you what, we'd like to do something totally new for you.  It's about four pieces rolled into one.  Three are on our new album Sheer Heart Attack, which went out today."

So I guess that's that..
