BMB Glasgow 93

I'm working to share this tape, and I need an hint:

the side 1 of my tape have the left channel very noyse, while the side 2 is normal, how can I improve the side 1?
or is better left untouched?

In theory you could just copy the good channel over the bad one, resulting in a mono recording -

and this isn't a bad idea if the actual recording is mono to begin with.  But this is actually from a gorgeous stereo recording... yours is a really high gen copy.

I have a great copy of this recording that I got either from the taper or someone who knew him.  No lineage, but at worst it's from a first gen tape.  I'll upload it in a little while..

just curious, when you say copy the good channel over the bad one, do you mean a mix copy or better erase at all the bad channel before copying the good one?

I think the second answer but I had to try for the better results

Both methods are possible, but it's just faster to do it in one step.  If the right channel is bad, then just copy the left channel and paste it over the right.  The result will be a mono recording.
