Michael wrote: I understand why people feel so strongly about Paul Rodgers singing with Queen. I mean, no one can compare with Freddie. But the way I always viewed the partnership is exactly as it was: Paul Rodgers with Queen (or half of Queen, to be exact). I found that Rodgers put his own spin on the Queen songs and did not try to imitate Freddie. Therefore, I never had a problem with the arrangement. As for the name of the band ("Queen + Paul Rodgers"), I feel that May and Taylor did this strictly for marketing purposes. The general public, at large, does not know who they are or that they were once members of Queen. They pretty much has to use the "Queen" name to guarantee high ticket sales. So I don't think it was any great crime for Brian and Roger to work with Paul - in fact, they put on quite an enjoyable show. If they are to tour again and are in my town, I will certainly be there again. I remember Paul Rodgers in Buenos Aires, signing items like A Night At The Opera vinyl (!) and Live At Wembley DVD (!!)...

I would ask Brian May to sing a legal document stating that he & Roger will finally start releasing work that the FANS want, starting with rareties that have been buried in the archives.

If they don't want to relase the rare tracks because they will not sell as good as yet another greatest hits... then give the tracks away. What do they want them for? People want to listen to them and if you're not gonna get money for them, then don't spend a fucking dime in the production, package or anything.
Just give them away, we'll be happy to get them.
I'm guessing it's not that simple either but FUCK, what are they gonna do with all that material that will probably never see the light?

When I knew I had the chance a few weeks back at WWRY in Glasgow, I could have (and really wanted to) take my Red Special guitar......but that meant having to take it to work first, and I didn't really like that idea. So I got him to sign my NATO 30th anniversary CD/DVD set. But the signature doesn't mean as much as the fact I actually got to meet him, and have my photo taken with him. It is such a happy memory!!!

I would get him to sign the inner sleeves of my home-made CDs of Opera, Races and Miracle. That is, if I muster enough courage to speak to him!!!! I would faint if I was in his presence. At the British Music Experience in the 'O2 bubble' I saw the Queen exhibit, and it had Freddie's originial Wembley jacket, Roger's drum kit from the early days (with the 'slim' version of the crest, so to speak), and Red Special! With the greenish-grey tremolo! It wasn't a replica. So, as you might expect, I reverently knelt. What I wouldn't give to visit Brian's house in Surrey and ask permission to play one chord on RS and if he would allow me to, Freddie's touring piano. I don't if that's the piano Fred composed Bo Rhap on, but that would be a tremendous bonus if it was!

A refund check for $16.45 since i bought the Cosmos Rocks.... and it didn't really truly rock. (false advertising)
Well... i got the BEST BUY version...so... maybe half of that... the live dvd was great... some songs sung by Bri.
On the REAL... i'd ask him to sign my copy of FURIA and one of my Guitars... to be blessed by the best.

It is kinda ironic that Funky Horsie hates "Queen + Paul Rodgers" (not that I like...) and gets so angry at Brian May but still have on his profile the following statement:
21/11/08 - saw Brian May live. Best night of my life.
Quite ironic and contradictory, huh?! haha

When I met him for the second time, in 1992, (he was a guest speaker at the CMJ Music Event in NYC), I asked him to sign my copy of As It Began, on the page with his 1969 lyrics for White Queen.
