You know What Could Have been really nice?

on the new remasters, on the extras for Sheer heart attack, having a version of In the lap of the dogs, I mean Gods, withouth that annoying pitch effect on freddie´s voice... i love that song. but that effect totally ruin it... That´s why I prefer the live version...

I totally agree with you. Could never understand what made the guys think that effect on Freddie´s voice was cool, when the song was being recorded in the studio.

I thought they should have included the Rainbow or Hammersmith version. Why Wembley? Its already been out there for such a long time and it's not even that great of a version.

Im A Fan Who actually have an opinion... not someone that loves everything they do Only because they are my idols..

Freddie Recorded I was Born To love You Like "He saw fit"... Who Where The Others To Re-recorded it?
They knew that the song could be really much better, and now, Im in The Same Position as they were...

Freddie "Saw Fit" the opetatic part of BohRap exactly as it is on the original album, And Now, On the Extras, There is an "acapella" version... so... I dont think that my request of having a version of in the lap of the gods without that effect is too daring...

I like the way the original sounds with the effects on Freddie's voice, but I do think it would be a cool idea to hear the unaltered original vocal.

I love Rembrandts 'Belshazzars's Feast'  , but i think maybe the intense light falling on Belshazzars headdress is a little too severe and i'm thinking about going down to the National Gallery with my paints and toning it down a little.

Well, You Can Actually Do that, With Photoshop or something... I wouldnt be complaining if I could Just edit the pitch... but that doesnt work out... anyways, your making no-sense... what about remixes and stuff? things that are even oficial..

Well i've always considered remixes/extenden version etc. a bit of a curio, not for serious consideration and never to be preferred over the original versions.
But there you have it - to each his own and there's no accounting for taste etc.
Well, i'm signing off for a couple o' days - off to London to see the SIS exhibition.
Ta ra !

What pitch effect? Can't say I've even noticed one!

(Edit) : Oops, just realised the poster is referring to ITLOTG- not ITLOTG (Revisited!).

I quite like that pitch effect on Freddie's voice- it gives that part of the song a certain ' vaudevillian' quality, which as we know had its place in Queen's music. But yes, it would be interesting to hear ITLOTG without it- although I suspect what would happen would be that because we are used to the pitch effect, we would still "hear" it anyway.

I like the original just fine.  The voice is great, the guitar work is great and the backing vocals are great.  The only thing i might change is the opening scream from roger.  I like the live versions as well/ Maybe a bit better because he does sing in his natural voice.  I would think the anthology (if it's ever released) would have versions with his natural voice singing this song.

Nahh, I wouldn't.  It's just one more thing that sets Queen apart from the rest.

In the meantime you can recreate it yourself by opening the song in a sound editor and speeding it up.
